Concerning ISIS 2014......

O.M.G.! The thing that bothers me is that they are not squeamish about beheading other human beings that have done nothing but be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and they don't have a shred of mercy in doing so! At least the French and English used sharp axes or swords to behead their royalty, not hacksaws to behead a stranger slowly! It's not like fighting another armed man...it's cowardly! That level of thinking ranks right up there with Hannibal Lecter in savagery! What kind of evil God do they worship that condones this, and the slaughter of children, or is it evil men who plot this in the name of their God?

I wonder what they will do when they run into the Asians who like to use sharp blades too.

I have noticed how they tremble to bring the smack talk their way.

Although.....it really doesn't have to be an Asian. I know quite a few Americans that know how to use Machetes, Swords, and daggers to. Not all our Military either.

This woman was tortured and then publically executed in Iraq. Just took her out of her home. No one did anything to stop them.

Iraqi woman activist killed by Islamic State.....

Militants with the Islamic State group publicly killed a rights lawyer in the Iraqi city of Mosul after finding her guilty of apostasy in a self-styled Islamic court, the U.N. mission in Iraq said Thursday. Samira Salih al-Nuaimi was seized from her home on Sept. 17 after allegedly posting messages on Facebook that were critical of the militants' destruction of religious sites in Mosul.

According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq, al-Nuaimi was tried in a so-called "Sharia court" for apostasy, after which she was tortured for five days before the militants sentenced her to "public execution." She was killed on Monday, the U.N. mission said. Her Facebook page appears to have been removed since her death.....snip~

Trinidad and Tobago are alleging some of their people, joining ISIS. What say ye?

Trinidadian mother confirms her son with ISIL: newspaper.....

After weeks of speculation about the involvement of Trinidad and Tobago nationals joining the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a mother confirmed her 29-year-old son left the Caribbean country a year ago to join the militant group, according to a local media report.

Local media have speculated that a number of men from Trinidad and Tobago had joined ISIL, including a man who in an ISIL video post identified himself as Al-Trinidadi. Government officials have not confirmed that man's identity.....snip~

No doubt, like most of the foreign terrorists, he got there by crossing the Turkish border with the quiet blessing of our 'allies' the Turks. Turkey's aim in all of this is to have ISIS kill as many Kurds as possible. Great ally, eh?

Fearing uprising, Iraq militants hunt ex-police.....

The Islamic State group is conducting a purge, killing dozens of former policemen and soldiers living in areas of Iraq under its control, in a campaign apparently aimed at preventing any uprising against its extremist rule. Former officers have been gunned down in their homes, rounded up and shot in groups or killed in public squares as an example to others in recent weeks, particularly in the northern city of Mosul, the largest city in the swath of territory bridging Iraq and neighboring Syria that the militant group controls.

Hassan was among some Sunnis in the security forces who surrendered, handed over their weapons and pledged to cut ties with the police when the Islamic State group overran Mosul in June. In return, the militants gave them "repentance badges" granting them some safety. But now, the Islamic State group suspected Hassan was engaging in activities against it. The campaign of killings adds a new bloody chapter in the Islamic State group's legacy. In its blitz capturing a swath of Iraq and neighboring Syria, it gained a grisly notoriety for butchering its opponents and members of sects it considers heretical.....snip~

Going after those with experience.....or can present a future problem for them. This doesn't count them killing all the Shia that were in Mosul's prison. Hundreds of them. What say ye?

Tragic Setbacks for U.S. Allies in Iraq and Syria.....

Western Iraq saw more brutal bloodshed this weekend after the Islamic State massacred 322 people of the Albu Nimr tribe, a Sunni group, including women and children. The Iraqi government confirmed the attack in the Anbar region, which began on Saturday and continued into Sunday, and was described as "systematic killings."Beyond the lives lost, the success of these "systematic killings" will have a long-term impact on the struggle between ISIS and the Iraqi government. "The fall of the village dampened the Shi'ite-led national government's hopes the Sunni tribesmen of Anbar—who once helped U.S. Marines defeat al Qaeda—would become a formidable force again and help the army take on Iraq's new, far more effective enemy," noted Reuters's Michael Georgy.

In Syria, the United States faced another setback in its battle against terrorist groups, when weapons distributed to anti-government rebels ended up in the hands of an al-Qaeda splinter group, Jabhat al-Nusra. The weapons provided by the United States included GRAD rockets and TOW anti-tank missiles. It is unclear if the moderate rebels who had been trained by the United States surrendered or defected to the terrorist group. The Independent reported that a U.S.-backed rebel group, Harakat Hazm, surrendered on Saturday night "without firing a shot" after al-Nusra attacked the villages it controlled. Some soldiers apparently defected, and the Syrian Revolutionary Front, another group receiving U.S. support, was driven from its strongholds.....snip~

Update: It appears al Nusra has taken two of Assad's bases, using tanks and heavy weapons. While at the same time taking out more of the SRF. This would be the group the US was looking to train.

Qaeda takes two Syrian bases in major blow to regime.....

Militants linked to Al-Qaeda dealt a major blow to Syria's regime on Monday by seizing two key army bases within hours, giving them control over most of Idlib province. The gains also signalled another defeat for Western-backed rebels who were driven out of most of the northwestern province last month by the jihadist Al-Nusra Front. The jihadists advanced in coordination with Islamist rebel groups Ahrar al-Sham and Jund al-Aqsa, the Observatory said, adding that a string of villages in the area also fell.

"The nature of the operations has served to underline the renewed prominence of more Islamically minded forces in Idlib, with Jabhat (Front) al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham having played the dominant role in practically capturing the facilities," he said. Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said Al-Nusra had used tanks and heavy weapons captured last month from the Western-backed Syrian Revolutionary Front.

Its defeat of the SRF was seen as a blow to US efforts to create and train a moderate rebel force as a counterweight to jihadists of the Islamic State group.....snip~

ISIS seeking bases inside Lebanon: security chief.....

ISIS militants holed up in the Qalamoun Mountains on the Syrian-Lebanese border are seeking to gain control of nearby Lebanese villages to support their fighting positions, the head of Lebanon's main security apparatus told Reuters.

Ibrahim said ISIS had become the dominant armed group in Qalamoun. "In the recent period about 700 new fighters pledged allegiance, and so they are now more than 1,000 fighters," he said.....snip~

so this is ISIS (Sunni Salafi) going up against Hezbollah? (Shia militia)
Or going up against Lebanese regulars? or both? I don't know a lot about the Lebanese army - have to look into this..

What ever happened to those Lebanese troops captured by ISIL?

Lebanon is Hezbollah so they say.....There are a couple threads up here in this forum on ISIS and going after Lebanon. Not sure about all the hostages they took.

Al nusra has been going after Hezbollah for fighting with Assad too. Which I believe they have threatened Lebanon as well.

We just gave them arms.....ISIS has been taking bases in Syria and Iraq. Question is.....can Lebanon prevent them from doing the same to them.

Seems ISIS' propaganda machine is still in full effect. Wonder why that is, huh?

New video has surfaced showing ISIS throwing men off of a building in front of a crowd. Their crime? Being gay. Other propaganda shows a woman being stoned to death for adultery and men being crucified on crossed for theft.

From what I understand, they release more propaganda the worse they're doing on the ground. American airstrikes, their loss of territory in Iraq, and their lack of victory in Kobani are likely lowering their morale; propaganda videos will help bring in fresh new fighters and boost the egos of those who are currently fighting for them.

I don't think we are being told the truth, myself. They have opened up a front in Lebanon. Then they attacked the Saud around the same time as the Paris attack. They also gained ground in Afghanistan with former Pakistan and Afghanistan Taliban pledging to them. Plus they gained more ground in Libya.

Wall Street Journal published a splashy story yesterday detailing the grim reality that US airstrikes have not curbed the terror army's advance in Syria:

More than three months of U.S. airstrikes in Syria have failed to prevent Islamic State militants from expanding their control in that country, according to U.S. and independent assessments, raising new concerns about President Barack Obama’s military strategy in the Middle East. While U.S. bombing runs and missile strikes have put Islamic State forces on the defensive in Iraq, they haven’t had the same kind of impact in Syria. Instead, jihadist fighters have enlarged their hold in Syria since the U.S. started hitting the group’s strongholds there in September, according to the new estimates. Islamic State’s progress in Syria is partly the result of the U.S. decision to focus its military efforts on Iraq, where the militant group has seized major parts of the country and declared them part of a new Islamic caliphate. The U.S.-led military effort has pushed the forces out of some key battlegrounds in Iraq. But Syria still serves as a haven for Islamic State fighters...
