That is an old trick used by many on social networks.

The Taliban is using fake Facebook profiles of cute girls in an attempt to befriend soldiers with the intent of gathering information about operations, the Sunday Telegraph reports.

Australian and coalition troops are being targeted by Taliban insurgents posing as “attractive women” on Facebook, according to the paper, and now troops are being warned about the potential danger.

Using attractive women to get military secrets period is as old as warfare itself. Getting it from facebook is just lazy, though. At least the KGB had their women suck and **** secrets out of officers. May as well get something out of treason.

Haha! I got a rando message from some girl about how she loves the troops and wants to friend me. I'm no longer in the military (didn't friend her either) but it was weird.

Too bad those fake girls are mostly talking to guys like me pretending to be Navy Seals.

If those soldiers had the right security settings they wouldn't get spam friend requests from fake women in the first place.
