Which will obviously entail an attempted shredding of US citizen's right to privacy.

I'd prefer the NSA stay with 'big box' intelligence gathering- other intel services and other nation's military forces. Seems everyone wants a piece of the terrorism pie (budget). Too many trying to horn in makes a Gordian Knot out of proper procedure. Who knows what and does that bit of insight get to the people who can work it into the puzzle.

Besides we still need to know what Merkel says on her cell phone... ;)
