Obama Doesn’t Know What He’ll Do When US Troops Capture an ISIS Leader

The president is now sending special operators on ISIS capture missions. He has less than 90 days to tell Congress what he plans to do with them...

Handing them over to Assad/Russia is a death sentence. Gitmo is out. Where?
 
Because we are talking about Obama, odds are his "plans" will involve the DOJ.
 
Either hand them over to the authorities of the country in which they are commiting their crimes or bring them back to the US for trial.

It will have to be a "dead not alive" mission. Unless the evidence is much better than it usually is in such situations the only thing he could do was put the man in Gitmo or some such and that would be a real Oooops for a man that can.

How about we don't capture them alive? We didn't send Seal Team Six to capture Bin Laden. I say we keep up the good work. This is war. Not America's Most Wanted.

The evidence is probably not good enough to stand up in an American court. Besides, the world and even people here would suspect political justice behind anything but a much too mild sentence. Obama could not really turn a captive over to Assad. The dictator has no legitimacy and he really tortures people. Both of these arguments forbid turning him over. Maybe it would be possible to give him to the Turks, Kurds or Iraqis. To expect much justice in the modern sense from those quarters is as good as from Assad.

I think that is about right. The only question might be to acquire information from high level personnel could be helpful.

Obama can trade them for US captives or simply hand them over to selected "coalition" forces (the Mossad?) to torture as they please. It is actually good for those ISIS "leaders" to not know their fate if captured. Whatever they now imagine is likely worse than anything Obama will state as being their official fate.

Are you kidding me? There's no telling what kind of crazy evidence would be found where ever we captured the leaders of ISIS, not to mention all the online evidence and videos that ISIS posts voluntarily.

But ignoring all that, imagine we capture ISIS leaders and they all claim that they never have or were intending to do any harm to america and plead innocent. We broadcast that accross the middle east and the internet and see how badly it affects ISIS recruitment. To have their leaders deny their entire purpose for existence. It would never happen and if it did it would only work for us.

Or just leave them in a country that criticized US handling of terrorists in the past like Germany. It would certainly be interesting to know, if the evidence is strong enough to send them to The Hague.

We would be accused of show trails like Stalin. It would be said we had waterboarded them.

And? By far most people wouldn't buy it. Even if there were accusations, the videos of their LEADERS saying "No, I've never planned any attacks against the US" would outweigh any false accusations 10 to 1.
 
Don't they believe that they won't go to paradise if they're killed by a woman? So, have them face an all female firing squad, and let them know that is what will happen if they're captured. That should take some of the wind out of their sails.
