Mommy please tell me, I have to know!

Why did Daddy have to get killed in Iraq?
Well son, georgie bushie never served in any war or conflict so he doesn't really understand about our brave Troops getting killed.
To him our Troops getting killed is just a numbers game.
---
The reason that Daddy got killed is that georgey bushy and ALL the Repukes that stick up for him don't mind guys like Daddy getting killed to save the Iraqis peoples lives. Its like trading Daddys life to for a Iraqis life. The difference is that Daddy got killed so that that Iraqi man could live.
He doesn't want to show any of our brave dead Troops on TV either.
---
So Mommy, some kid in Iraq still has his Daddy because Daddy got killed to save that kids Daddys life?
Yes son, that about sums it up!
Thats not fair Mommy! I want my Daddy home again.
Don't cry son, it hurts for me to see you cry.

Well I could almost live with it if one life was to save another's but the truth be told a heck of a lot of innocent Iraqi's have been killed because of us and by us. So it would be more like Daddy lost his life because he was in another country because georgie bushy doesn't give a damned about anyone else's life. But son, we have control of Iraqi oil and that's what really matters.

Sick, just sick!

Me neither and not only that I'm paying nearly a buck a gallon more than I did before the occupation. Go figure; I think it is lining the pensions of baby bushy and chained dick.

Re: Mommy please tell me, I have to know!

Your daddy made a choice son. He believed in his country, in its tradition, and its commander in chief. He chose to go into the military and live a life/a time of service for his country and for its principles. He was a brave man, and a hero, and he died trying to keep our country safe and to keep many many innocent kids like yourself, and their mommies and daddies, free and safe as well. I know it hurts he's gone, and its okay to miss him. I miss him too. But he loved your dearly and always remember that your daddy died a hero, defending his country, and fighting for freedom.

...

or you know, you could scar your child for life by turning the death of his father into a horrible partisan rant.

Your choice

But then you'd have to explain to him that you lied to him after he learns the truth in history class.

There is nothing to lie about if the boys' dad died fighting for what he, not you, believed in.

The world isn't this black and white you make it out EVEN...even if your twisted little world view that the mother told her child is true...that doesn't make the other things stated in my post untrue as well. Both could exist at the same time.

So yes, I would try to tell my child the positives...show my child his dead parent was a hero...was doing something he believed in or at least chose to do (cause there is no draft right now so EVERYONE chooses to be in the military)...try to let him know that his parent loves him...that the world isn't bleak, hopeless, and evil...and ABOVE ALL ELSE not drag my innocent, young, easily emotionally vulnerable child into my own partisan, head strong, spirit political views simply to make myself feel good that I showed him how much of a big bad evil bastard I think George Bush is.

And then if, For some idiotic reason, my brain worked like yours and I actually thought the things you said as well as what I told the child....I would wait for him to get older, more able to understand things in a world sense and in a morality sense, and have a more mature conversation with him.

Let me guess? If your had a young child whose sister was raped and killed, you'd sit him down and tell them every dirty detail of how it happened too?

- - - - - - -

And your educational question is a sick one in and of itself. If our schools are going so far off just teaching history, and facts, but using it to parade their own political ideologies to young children, that in and of itself is an issue. History teachers right now shouldn't be up there going "George Bush is an angel and is the greatest man in the world, muslims are all evil and must be killed, and this is the noblest war ever"...NOR should they be up there going "George Bush is the devil who sends people to die for his own personal vendettas and enjoyment, this was is unarguably unethical, immoral, evil, illegal, wrong, vile, and every person who had a hand in it should be sent to whatever hell they may believe in"

But...sure...your logic is definitely swaying me

The OP was designed to appeal to Pathos rather than Logos, so your sarcasm would more aptly applied to say "sure..your pathology is definately swaying me."
