I think the supervisor should pack their kit and move to Cuba or Venezuela... where hanging American flags is offensive too.

Sorry, a flag that large has no place inside an office unless it is your company. She can place a small one on her desk, along with pictures of all her relatives who serve, or have served, and that is enough.

The office where she works is not her private property.

However, the person finding it "offensive" should have the nerve to stand up and say so without getting the boss involved.

Myself, I don't display a flag at any time. But I know people who are draft dodgers who do. Displaying a flag, not displaying a flag, neither is an indication of your level of patriotism...

It depends on the decor strictures of the hospital.

If the supes reside in cubicles or have an office and one can decorate their area as they wish, then flag haters can (and should) go to hell.

Yeah, but if it is just too large for the space, you don't say that it is "offensive." You say something like "It is physically obstrusive."

How could someone find the flag offensive? That's just bizarre.

Personally, I'm weird about patriotism in general. I dislike all forms of blind devotion, and I consider most forms of outward patriotism to be in this "class" of activity.

That being said, I think someone being "offended" by the flag is just preposterous. If a symbol of a country is that bothersome as to be offensive, someone really has no legitimate reason residing in that country.

Probably because patriotism is an unnatural construct and it requires years of grooming for it to feel even fictitiously sane. Thank God for Elementary Schools, now the children are indoctrinated earlier.
