Not sure what's so bad about that video.
His expression of regret wrt Keating scandal ain't incriminating at all. He's expressing that his judgment in that episode failed him and led to an appearance of impropriety that can kill the credibility of a politician. That's it.
And he was giving a grade to Bush between September 11, 2001 and the interview date of November 2002. So why do you think that's at all important? And here's his reasoning:

Gee, you'd think Democrats would be happy about that. But nope. Instead, they'll take McCain's comments in this interview out of context and try to hang him out to dry on it...
BTW - this interview has remained rather well unknown because it is so truly unremarkable.
