Seriously, though, folks. He was found with child porn on his computer, and has not been charged. He also entered a psychiatric hospital for help. You know, like that really changes things. he should have thought of that BEFORE he got caught.
What the hell is it with politicians and other celebrities who, when they get caught doing something, "go into rehab" or "seek help"? Why should that mitigate the circumstances surrounding the crimes they commit? It shouldn't. I hope they throw the book at this piece of trash. Article is here.

Give him the first half of a sex change operation. Cut down the tree and split the stump.....
Castration is not a sure method of preventing erections, removal of the penis is as sure as you can get....

Its possible that the pictures were adults who happen to look really young or were altered. Unlikely yes, but reasonable doubt exists for a reason.
I also curious why you think he should be so severely punished? Possessing child pornography is a crime and should be, but its hardly the worst crime out their. Prison time is a perfectly good sentence considering the indirect effects on exploiting children, but no act of direct harm taken by the perp.

| Yeah, but putting out fires isn't really a big deal. Premptively torturing someone is extremely drastic, and completely against the constitution. |

And how do you get from my comment to pre-emptive torture?
People trying to protect pedophiles, or excuse them in any way are the ones who say there is no smoke, while the building burns down around them. |

'Tis rather draconian.
And it wouldn't change anything anyway.
Deprived of their genitals, sexual predators would simply take to assailing victims with objects.
But looking at child porn is a far cry from sexual predation, unless you think all men who view penthouse magazines are rapists.
Nevertheless, viewing child porn is a crime and must needs be punishable (although perhaps not by dismemberment). Better yet, sad sacks like Cohen should be granted immunity in exchange for rolling over on their suppliers.
It's the purveyors of child porn whose capture should be the priority.
