A member of the same political party that says people will go to hell if they pay for sex is himself arrested for trying to pay for sex.

Minneapolis seems to be the place for paragons of virtue to fall off their pedestals, so in the spirit of honoring them, I propose a plaque to commemorate them. I also propose that this plaque be placed in the same stall, in the same mens room, where Larry Craig himself made Minneapolis famous by getting busted.

This sort of thing doesn't actually bother me. The bothersome part is that the repubs try to claim higher moral values than others, its the hypocrisy.

What you boys and girls seem to miss is the real point.

When GOP'ers do bad, we feel badly about it. We feel we have let down our families and the party and the supporters and friends and colleagues and the constituents and the district and/or the Nation.

When Democrats do wrong, it's their own business what they do and no one else should be concerned over it. "There's nothing wrong with what I did. It has nothing to do with my professional performance of my duties. OF COURSE I expect to continue in my job serving the fine people of..." And when he/she returns to work the entire assemblage will stand up and cheer.

That is the difference.

GOP'ers recognize that doing wrong should have consequences. This sends a message that bad things happen when you do wrong.

Democrats recognize that all that counts is being able to beat the rap and avoid serious consequences. This sends the message that if you are smart enough you can continually do whatever you want. Just don't get caught.

Wives should never trust husbands because if they can stray they will.

Government officials should never be respected because theya re all just crooks in waiting or crooks who've not been caught.

That type of cynicism is changing America and making us harder and colder and more like the nations where they see corruption as an every day thing.

Contrition counts.

Democrats have no shame.

That's the point here.
