When I was in the Navy I actually turned in a request chit, suggesting we maintain a Navy and disband the standing army. I actually did that. Considering what it regarded, it should have been passed up the chain of command all the way to the top. It never came back, like all of the others.

If we primarily only had a Navy with their Marines to respond we could topple a statue inland, but long occupations would be harder.

GO NAVY!

Yeah, a wall and a border patrol will protect us. {sound of laughter}

We need the air force too.

Not really, the most ridiculous service is the Air Force, because there is no air in space. So in the future they will be obsolete anyway, as anything that goes into space with people is a spaceship.

What silliness, the Air Force flying from Earth to the Moon!

What can the Air Force do that the Navy cannot? Other than heavy lifting on planes former Navy personnel have built, nothing. So why have two command structures?

Admiral Kirk...Admiral Adama?

You just have to change the names of the Air Force Bases we want to keep to Naval Stations in anticipation of the future spaceships, and have the fly boys we keep for transition put on the new uniforms.

No longer would there be fighters that are incompatible in docking with ships.

Would you rather the enemy be shooting at land based ICBM's, for "The Day After," or trying to hit elusive subs and ships far from our shores?

And why call Star Wars an Air thingy?

Thanks, but I know how presidents are elected, and George W. Bush was not.

Do you have anything to back up that assertion?
