The FACT remains and has been clearly shown here that we do NOT inhumanely torture our prisoners; deprivation and mental stress while monitoring the subjects for their health is hardly what I would call a violation of the convention or extreme by any stretch of the imagination.
These people may have information that can save lives. Coddling extremists is hardly a method that would obtain results. I know you live in a fantasy world where people do not mean to maim and murder others by flying aircraft into high rise buildings, but many of us, particularly this administration, are aware of it, understand the danger and are desirous to never have something like that happen again. One way is getting/extracting information from the murderous thugs being held at Gitmo.

There are several problems with your (and this administration's) analysis regarding the use of torture (or near torture) means to get information.
Not the least of which is the information that you obtain by torture (or near torture) is oftentimes not reliable.
Additionally, when we talk about making "sacrifices" in times of war, it was NEVER meant that we should ever "sacrifice" our values in order to obtain "victory". God help us if we EVER as a nation adopt the values and methods of our "enemies" in order to "defeat" them. The sacrifice of our values and ethics as a nation would result in little more than a hollow "victory".
