Marco Rubio lied about his family escaping Castro

Even though Rubio lied, in the grand scheme of things this is not that big of a deal.
 
eh the source is not that impressive (Addictinginfo.org) but what else does he lie about?

The dates I have given regarding my family’s history have always been based on my parents’ recollections of events that occurred over 55 years ago and which were relayed to me by them more than two decades after they happened," he wrote on Oct. 20. "I was not made aware of the exact dates until very recently."

Asked about Rubio's official bio the next day, spokesman Alex Conant confirmed, "the dates were wrong."

"We just recently became aware of it, and it just hadn't been updated," he said. (The site updated the evening of Oct. 21, 2011 to say: "Marco was born in Miami in 1971 to Cuban exiles who first arrived in the United States in 1956.")

People who abuse amphetamines like meth and adderall have a cat piss stench to em and when I met Rubio back in 2014 I distinctly remembered he had a smell of cat pee to him. Explains a lot.

Big deal or not, it says a lot about his character, just like the nonsense about Trump hiring illegal aliens. That was a lie too. If they're going to lie in the campaign, they're going to lie in the job.

And you act like ANY of them should be supported. They do it because they get away with it, because people like you think it's somehow okay.

Only 2 of those are actual lies, 3 are broken promises and 1 is a statement based on bad intelligence.

By 'same level of attention' you mean the GOP will attack him for it and the democrats will ignore it? That would be kinda like the 'same level of attention' given to Hillary and her ridiculous lies. And while many in the GOP will attack him for it, its highly unlikely democrats will ignore it in the unlikely event he becomes the GOP nominee.

So he was repeating a story his family told him that turned out to be wrong. I am finding it hard to get outraged over that.I have told people I am related to Robert E Lee because my grandmother, who is into genealogy, told me so. But you know what? Maybe she is wrong. But it isn't important. I really don't care what Rubio's family did or didn't do. They aren't running for office.

No, it is important, especially if you go repeating that story with no disclaimers. Had he said "this is what I was told", maybe. But he didn't. He said it to score some brownie points. He should have verified the story first before he opened his mouth.
 
OUCH!!!! Rubio was the one with the great family story that resonated so well with Americans. Now we find out that a big portion of it was crap.
