Marco Rubio lied about his family escaping Castro

You seem to think we should accept it because everyone does it. We should not. It doesn't matter who has done it, we should not have voted for any of them. Character matters.

If only that were true. In politics it appears the opposite is true.

Geeze.

Embellishment is the name of the game in American politics and your "journalists", and those who portray journalists on TV, seem to have this idea that a politician's entire biography is of relevance to whom they are today and what their record is in public life - the two things that the voter should be concentrating on in order to pick a competent leader.

Here in Canada, for the most part, we have no idea about the personal lives and life histories of our politicians and we care even less. Unfortunately, recently, with the advent of the Trudeau child, a man who has no qualifications or intelligence but has a famous last name and is pretty, Canada may be succumbing to the American nonsense - choosing leaders based on anything but competence and intelligence.

American politics needs to grow up - you're becoming laughable.

No, it just means that the majority of Americans are idiots.

Trump has already told 7,427 lies, but who cares?

No, it is important, especially if you go repeating that story with no disclaimers. Had he said "this is what I was told", maybe. But he didn't. He said it to score some brownie points. He should have verified the story first before he opened his mouth.

How would Hillary have the slightest chance in hell if this standard were truly applied?

She's habitual. She can't even remember what the truth was.

Of course she is, but you don't get a pass for doing something wrong, just because there are other people out there doing it wrong. Wrong is wrong. He was wrong. He continues to be wrong because he's trying to score brownie points from what he assumes is an ignorant public.

Even though Rubio lied, in the grand scheme of things this is not that big of a deal.

Really. I assume pretty much every major politician lies through their teeth on a regular basis.

Wrong hasn't been wrong in this country since 5th graders learned about cigars and blue dresses. That ended the need for integrity and truth in this country.

I don't agree...
