Stop that. He went to Vietnam.

But we all came home.

I had more than Bush would have ever had! I had the GUTS to join the Marines knowing I was going to Nam.
I have a Purple Heart, Jungle expert badge and many, many more including one that is only bestowed on very few soldiers in the service. Although I hold my medals in my heart, my buddies lifes were worth more to me than ANY medal.

Lets see, to sum it up:
1- Bush had college, I had guts.
2- Bush was to yellow and hid from Nam, I joined to go to Nam.
3- Bush learned how to fly a plane ***'in the U.S.A. only'***. I learned how to kill to save my life and my buddies lives.
4- Bush ***would have been an officer*** But he wasn't.***
I was a Sergeant.

So Bush it just a ***'cooda, wooda'*** but didn't.

Hummmm, looks like I made 'YOU and BUSH' the STINKER!
Hey stinger, how do you say HOOAH with a dick in your mouth?

HOORAH!

Your appeal to emotion doesn't hide or change the fact that GWB's actions did not make you enlist or make it necessary for you to enlist.

GWB's actions did not get you sent to Vietnam.

GWB's actions did not cause you or your buddies to be hurt or die or save your lives or make you do or not do anything.

If you were suddenly trying to trumpet your service to all of us then, sure, you have done so and you didn't even have to produce a DD-214.

So, again, thank you, if it's deserved.

But your post illustrates perfectly why he's the decider and you are here misguidedly asking him for an apology which you aren't owed.

By the way, on behalf of the President allow me to thank you for your service.
---
Your welcome!
---
Not trumping anything. Just pointing out the differences between me and bush and what I earned and what he did not earn.
---
I'm saying that I was the one that took Bushs place in Nam. bush would have to prove to me that I was not the one that took his place in Nam. If he has balls enough he can talk to me anytime. Everything I said was true.
---
Would it have been better if I said that he owed an appology to every one that served in Nam?
Then I can see your point.
Of course you know that I wouldn't change it anyway.

For the uninitiated:

Hoooah = Army

Ooorah = USMC

Oprah = Democratic Party (The Women's Party)

Quote:
If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.

It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it’s the party of women...

Versus...

A teacher who cares to achieve universal enlightenment and works at it and works at it and devises new fresh ways of saying the same thing and as he sees person after person quietly getting it he is motivated to continue trying to spread the word.

Or if that is too much for you then try this:

Winston = Tourette's Syndrome Guy

bhkad = Paul Revere
bhkad, I am smart enough to recognize your agenda. I have since your very first week here, remember? Since that time, I've grown to have some respect for you. In fact, when you're not shouting 'Jihad' out of your keyboard at every minute, whether it pertains to the topic or not, you're mostly intelligent. Your tendency to focus on that one topic demeans your position on other topics, and makes you look more like 'Chicken Little' than 'Paul Revere'. I, and many others here, wish you would stop, but doubt you will. When it pertains to the topic, you are often a good source of information...at first...until you go into your 'everything is about Jihad, run and hide' mode, which makes you sound more like the guy who babbles, sometimes makes sense, and sometimes just repeats the same things over and over. When this happens and when you threadjack, no one listens to your message. I'd a thought you'd be smart enough to figure that out by now.

How many of us recognize we are at war?

REALLY at war. And not just in Afghanistan and Iraq.

It's a real war. And it's being waged on all non-Jihadists in America and around the world in the minds of every non-Jihadist poster no matter where they live.

And whether we recognize it's a real war or not the Jihadists never stop their war against us.

Yet in this war, a war of ideas, that's being waged on us how many people still root for the enemy because they are unclear on their motives and goals and tactics? How many of us still consider the US government to be the enemy? How many of us still mistakenly believe that all the other anti-war, anti-Bush, anti-US, anti-globalist voices out there are just like us; loyal liberal, peace and freedom loving, independent Americans? How many of us believe there is no real Jihadist threat to America because they think there are only a few scraggly terrorists in the world and they don't have troop ships and fighter jets and Airborne units? How many people still believe that there is no connection between the Mogadishu massacre on October 3-4, 1993 (fourteen years ago today) and Tehran's desire to overthrow Saddam Hussein in Iraq which prompted Saddam to attack Iran?

Quote:
The Iran-Iraq War, also known as the Iraqi Imposed War (جنگ تحمیلی, Jang-e-tahmīlī), Holy Defense (دفاع مقدس, Defa-e-moghaddas) and Iranian Revolutionary War in Iran, and Saddām's Qādisiyyah (قادسيّة صدّام, Qādisiyyat Saddām) in Iraq, was a war between the armed forces of Iraq and Iran lasting from September 1980 to August 1988. It was commonly referred to as the Persian Gulf War until the Iraq-Kuwait conflict of (1990–91), and for a while thereafter as the First Persian Gulf War. [3] It has also been called the Longest Conventional War of the 20th Century[4] and is also regarded in much of the West as one of the Forgotten Wars of the 20th Century.

The war began when Iraq invaded Iran on 22 September 1980 following a long history of border disputes and demands for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime following the Iranian Revolution.

Iran-Iraq War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
How many posters fail to recognize the importance of the invasion in trying to contain Iran's Islamic Revolution that has never died?

I could go on but you get the idea, hopefully, that it is ideas that are the currency of exchange in this war and that an uninformed voice is apt to rise up in support of ideas formulated to weaken freedom and liberty.

Cindy Sheehan is the perfect metaphorical figure.

She is not a bad woman. She deserves our compassion for having lost a son in a war she does not understand. And she doesn't understand it because some of the Jihadists won't tell us the truth, and the US government CAN'T tell us everything they know. And into this information void the other Jihadists flood disinformation designed to confuse. And then some uninformed, misinformed and psychologically maladapted Americans join in with their views and they have convinced poor Cindy that America is bad and that Hugo Chavez, who warmly embraces Ahmadinejad (who is responsible for some American troop deaths in Iraq) is her friend.

This is what is going on in the collective mindset of free peoples of the world and I say that anyone who tries to bring clarity to the issue so that freedom's defenders will at least stop inadvertently helping weaken America's fight for freedom, should be lauded.

How many of us will lose if we become less free?

Walid Phares:The War of Ideas

**UPDATED! NEW VIDEO OF PHARES' COMPLETE REMARKS**

I made my way down the to the lovely, elegant National Arts Club last night for Walid Phares' book launch party. When I read his last book Future Jihad years ago, it was one of those moments when I was clubbed over the head with reality. If you haven't read it, IWalidphares_006 must insist that you do (although I suspect most of you have. In Future Jihad, Phares does an extraordinary job of explaining the " essence and implications of the term jihadism in ways the average American can easily understand."

In this his latest book, The War of Ideas: Jihadism against Democracy, It seems to me if you want to understand the war of ideas being waged by the jihadis, Walid Phares lays it out point by point. He brings his exception insight into the strategy and operational tactics of radical Islamists. He sets out a strategic plan to battle the jihad on the most important front - the battle of ideas.

From Afghanistan and Iraq to Europe and the United States we are engaged in one of the most heated wars of all time. In this incisive new book, the man that has been called--the only one to understand the mind of the jihadist--shows that the most important battle is actually taking place in the hearts and minds of the world's population. This is the war of ideas, where ideology is the most powerful weapon of all.Walidphares_war_of_ideas Phares explores the beliefs of two opposing camps, one standing for democracy and human rights, and the other rejecting the idea of an international community and calling for jihad against the West. He reveals the strategies of both sides, explaining that new technologies and the growing media savvy of the jihadists have raised the stakes in the conflict. And most urgently, he warns that the West is in danger of losing the war, for whereas debate and theorizing rarely translate into action here, ideas and deeds are inextricably linked for the forces of jihad.

I understand that service in the National Guard was much different at that time then it is today. It was reserved for people looking to get out of Korea and Vietnam and who had the connections to get into it, whereas today it is just as honorable as active duty service.
