If there were Inspectors General advising a formal investigation and as a result if you then expected an imminent subpoena to force you to do something and your handlers told you it would look a lot better if you did that something before you got the subpoena, what would you do?

Good question! :thumbs: You'd sure have to weigh how much you could trust those who told you - to not betray you if it came down to the subpoena nitty-gritty, wouldn't you! These people are not innocent babes in the woods, and Lois Lerner had to take the Fifth to protect not only herself but others in the IRS scandal! She was forced out because she refused to resign, if memory serves. So much for protecting others!
 
But seriously it's hard to listen to people defending Hillary on this point who are the same people arguing for transparency in campaign contributions. You can't have it both ways.
I for one am for transparency for all politicians even when it's not convenient for candidates I may support.

Transparency isn't good enough.

What difference does it make if I know who bribed my representative or not?

I'm going to get screwed anyway, whether I know or not.

The idea is not to get screwed in the first place.

There are basically two choices: public financing, or regulate the business of political advertising.

The server has been wiped clean.

Maybe the FBI can coax something out of it...but then again, maybe Hillary had brand new hard drives installed.

In any case, this buys her more time. We, the public, probably won't hear anything more about that server till next year sometime.

Nah she isn't laughing now MC :2wave: Now the Media and The FED knows there was a transition server. Plus now they also picked up an additional 2 Thumb drives totaling 3.

All relevant information that she kept from everyone else. Now she didn't lie about them. She just failed to mention they existed.

Who's surprised? There likely was enough on that server that many, many people in government - including foreign governments - didn't want the content discovered. It never would have been released until it was wiped clean. There very likely was collusion to delay the seizure of that device until it was thoroughly cleaned. Who cares if this keeps Hillary out of serious trouble as long as it keeps her out of the WH and far, far away from political power?

Heya HB. Well if the FBI and Police don't want to make an arrest. I am sure there are several Veterans that took an oath to defend the country from Foreign and Domestic Enemies. I still believe Texas Rangers can operate anywhere in the Country too.

She surely doesn't want that to happen. Nor to be classified as such, huh?

Mornin Auntie Mmmmm. She also does have to think after the election. Once there is a Repub in the Presidency. She can be put under Criminal Investigation again and have no hope of obstructing. Nor would her people.

Colin Powell also had a private email server. So did Jeb Bush (Florida's laws are the same as the Fed Gov). W Bush didn't have a private email server, but under his watch tons of emails were lost.

I assume that if they had been democrats, they should be in jail also.

Mornin Image. :2wave: Colin Powell wasn't conducting government business on a server was he? Nor was he sending and receiving classified emails with his server.

Nor was he discussing classified material in an email with someone who had no security clearance. Quite a difference, huh?
