    A 23 year old Pfc. from the 25th Infantry Division died of injuries sustained in a combined improvised explosive device and small arms attack in Afghanistan.

    "WASHINGTON -- Suicides are surging among America's troops, averaging nearly one a day this year -- the fastest pace in the nation's decade of war.

    The 154 suicides for active-duty troops in the first 155 days of the year far outdistance the U.S. forces killed in action in Afghanistan -- about 50 percent more -- according to Pentagon statistics obtained by The Associated Press.

    The numbers reflect a military burdened with wartime demands from Iraq and Afghanistan that have taken a greater toll than foreseen a decade ago. The military also is struggling with increased sexual assaults, alcohol abuse, domestic violence and other misbehavior.

    Because suicides had leveled off in 2010 and 2011, this year's upswing has caught some officials by surprise..."

    Private First Class from Georgia. He was 20 years old and was a member of America's Honor Guard...the 82nd Airborne Division. His life was taken by an improvised explosive device.

    A 22 year old Marine Corporal from California. He was with the legendary 1st Marine Division. He died in Helmand province. His death is under investigation.

    My guess is for the reason stated by Charlie Wilson at the end of the movie "Charlie Wilson's War": "These things happened. They were glorious and they changed the world... and then we ****ed up the endgame."

    While we prepare to leave Afghanistan just like we did Iraq, we also don't want to have to go back there in 10 years to fight another war.

    He was a 20 year old private first class from Yucaipa, California. That's in the Mojave Desert. He was with the 25th Infantry Division. His life was ended by an improvised explosive device. Now he's joined the March of the Dead.
