I am not sure where you can find the person who doesn't know about Rush and doesn't know what he does, hell Rush gets millions in free advertising from the lamestream media he loves to hate with every wild attack and shameless rant he spews.

But back to my point you dodged, no one can count any listeners because no one can have access to any numbers. Rush built his empire on smoke and mirrors. The numbers you posted can not be verified because those who made the claims for Rush to parrot just made them up. His cheerleaders have thrown around anything from 60% to doubled.

Actually there are polls which can get quite specific as to numbers and advertisers will pay accordingly. Rush makes a lot of money.

Of course he's still on the air. He's still on the air because a lot of people are ignorant racists who suck up everything the fat bulbous toad has to say. Demagogues in this country have always managed to survive because playing on the fears and prejudices of people has always been a winning formula with those who are incapable of thinking for themselves.

Ignorant racist. ouch! I can't stand the guy but I wouldn't classify it as racist as much as an oversimplification with even more simple minded slogans. It's style over substance which is a problem much greater than Rush. Hating him is actually a wasted effort because if you google people meters and conservative talk radio you will discover that many of the conservative talk guys are really paper tigers that never had the listeners people thought.

FYI People meters are the new way of recording listeners that is much more accurate and many of the conservative guys have taken a hit with a more accurate count. In the past they used diaries which were based on someone recalling what they listened to and reporting it. As you can imagine this was probably heavily influenced by those who made the most noise.

I just don't understand how this one relatively inoffensive (for him) remark could be resulting in all the blowback he's getting. (Don't misunderstand me; I revel in his downfall; I just don't understand it.)

Did someone demonize the word "slut" while I was sleeping? Who is this woman, that can testify before Congress but bursts into tears and needs therapy because Rush insulted her? God damn, some of you young liberal women (and men) today would never have made it in the Feminist Movement of the 1970's, I can tell you.

Sometimes, I think modern liberals take pride in behaving like a bunch of emo first graders. This kinda reminds me of all the transparently stupid hand-wringing that went on when Obama had Bin Laden killed. I'm sorry...how in the hell could that POSSIBLY have been a bad thing?

Seriously, people? "Slut" is where we liberals have chosen to draw the line in the sand today?
