Why Is "Slut" Fatal For Rush?

I learned all I could learn from listening to him and there are many other avenues for polticial discussion and conservative views. I personally got fed up during the Clinton years with what I heard from the usual sources including Rush Limbaugh after a while. The lines were drawn in the sand in a way it never had before. Truth and honesty and sober thought went completely out the window. For the liberals, the "everyone is a victim and nobody should ever actually be offended by anything" culture has been engrained in society. Divide and conquer is in full effect. There is a huge double standard about things like this. You can call Sarah Pallin all kinds of foul names and it will never be treated in the same light. Many of the people who are criticizing Limbaugh are hypocrites. The attention this woman is getting, treating her with almost hero status, is ridiculous.

Rush's show is still going. It's alive and well....because of loyal supporters like you. In fact, he lovvvvesss people who buy into his hate mongering. So sit back, turn on your radio and join him in all of his nonsensical wars on everybody who doesn't walk lockstep to his complete bull**** that he perpetrates as THE TRUTH...the EL RUSHBO TRUTH.

So since you've identified yourself as a "Ditto-Head"...take the time to write to all of the companies who have dropped him and tell them that you agree with his comments. I'm sure they'll jump back in as advertisers.

Except I think in her original remarks she was emphasizing lawyers having sex and needing help to pay for brith control. Now she is all sweet and innocent and only concerend about womens health. Give me a break.
 
Well: people have been slowly attacing Rush for years - and tactic after tactic has been used to get him off the air and has failed.

Turning his comment about her being 'paid to be able to have sex - makes her a slut / prostitute' is a way to try to twist his point (which is a point that countless people on THIS forum - left and right - have made in regard to the situation) and turn it as if he said that about every single woman who ever has used birth control.

I can at least see past my dislike for him adn recognize that he didn't call ME a slut or a prostitute.

And damn: you bet your sweet ass my insurance paid for my tubal ligation - I'm one trampy whore according to this philosophy :)
 
As if this donkey girl scout mess weren't already annoying me snotless, I just found out President Obama felt it necessary to publically speak out against Rush and his now-infamous faux-demonic "slut" remark. The President of the United States! Is he planning to conduct shouting matches on a regular basis with every media whore going? On what planet could this have ever become a "national issue" that "needed" his attention?

I guess you don't read too well. I don't listen to Rush any more. I stopped being a regular listener back near the end of the 90's, then a rare listener and now not at all. Your opinon on what is hate mongering based on your stereotypical post here doesn't carry much weight. You've lumped yourself in with all the liberal parrots who just simply fear what doesn't agree with their philosophy. Talk about lockstep, unthinking hackery.

I have yet to find ANYONE who'll admit to listening to Rush anymore. Mebbe he's become the elevator musac in GOP National Headquarters and the like?
 
I have to say, it certainly sucks to be a liberal today. I still can't figure out who engineered us into looking like such assholes, but SOME of us surely did embrace it like it was free money.

Including -- still in shock here -- President Obama!

That's not the impression I got from watching her testimony. Trust me, I was more than ready to tear into her too, because as far as I'm concerned BC should not be covered by health insurance unless its primary use is to treat a medical condition. Like I said, most of her testimony was not about having sex. It was mentioned in the parts where she pointed out how expensive BC can be for some women and/or couples, many of whom are married, when finances are already stretched to the limit as they very often are for students. Other than that, her focus was mainly on medical uses.

I'm pretty much where you are concerning Rush Limbaugh. But, as a Conservative, I completely understand the public's outrage at Limbaugh's vitriolic attack on a young lady I view as a private citizen.

To assume this is a "liberal issues" is to under-estimate the general public.

I don't mind admitting I listened to him at one time and pretty regularly. He was very useful resource for learning conservative principles. He would present opinions you would hear nowhere else and exposed lies and hypocrisy in liberal thought. It was a refreshing change from the usual news and commentary. I just outgrew him. He became too much of a zealot. It is hard to listen to anyone for very long any more no matter what side they are on. I hate conservative commentators as much as I do liberal ones now. I can no longer wade through the B.S. to get the golden nuggets of wisdom because there is too much B.S.

Well, if I were a conservative, I could at least take comfort in the fact that the current President making a total ass of himself was not of my party.

Apart from that, kinda nice to hear from an embarrassed non-liberal, Maggie.

No, I was also an early listener...though I could swear he was on tv at the time. I gave up approximately when you did, and for the same reasons.
 
Ed Schultz said "that slut Laura Ingram" it was a direct personal attack and the libs yawned. Rush calling Fluke a slut was just his shtick and he was trying to illustrate how absurd her testimony was. His point was you could buy 5 rubbers a day every day all year with the money she claimed birth control cost so wtf, is this women a slut or a prostitute?

Limbaugh is an epic troll god. As a troll, the only way to get rid of Rush, is to stop giving him attention. As it stands today, everyone is giving Limbaugh more atention than ever, everyone is feeding the troll, further empowering him to vent for us. Rush is not going away, he's becoming more powerfull than ever.

Look, the only reason he "jokes" so much is so that when he says outrageous things, he always has plausible deniability in saying that he was just joking.

No no, I don't follow the news at all. Like, at all. I listen to Rush for entertainment, just like I come to DP for entertainment. It's like watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart or The Colbert Report, you watch it not for news, but for entertainment. The entertainment just happens to be based on the news, but objective reporting was never the objective.

This is similar to the bloodletting over the alleged 'racist' joke forwarded by the federal judge recently. When something liek this happens, the hordes descend to howl, scream and moan about how evil and unjust...whenever a CONSERVATIVE proponent does something like this. Its all mountains from molehills. You hear sponsors jumping off the wagon or for that matter all the vewy vewy sensitive 'liberals' lose their mind when it is done by a liberal? Of course not and anyone that says it is done to the same level when it is a liberal doing it is an absolute full on liar. Not misinformed...not just 'bull****ting'...a total liar.

Funny that the 'hearing' itself occurred nearly a month ago and no one ever knew about it or cared until Rush had something to say.

The problem with all of Fluke's talk of medical uses of birth control is that her school allows it...if it's a medically necessary treatment. That means she is just trying to muddy the waters...a common tactic amongst liberals, for sure.

Tell you what...do a little research on this lady. This isn't the first time she's tried to get her university to cover stuff they don't want to. It's not her first activist job. She tried to get the school to cover sex change operations. She failed. Now she's trying to get them to cover birth control pills. I expect she'll fail again.

But, in the meantime, the media, the talking heads, the politicians and the sheeple are all het up about this and are not paying attention to the important issues. Just what Obama wants.


So it goes.
