Admittedly, I do not have a large sample of comparative data to work with here, but I cannot recal any cases where these things were allowed to become distractions. (IMO, The yankess suck for more reasons that the Jeter A-rod feud.)

I remember a big deal had been made about Scottie and Rodman, and how htta could never work. The overwhelming concensus I've seen from players though was that "real" professionals overcome these little things for the good of the team...

I guess we can ask are Biden and Obama "real" professionals though.
