I will grant McCain the benefit of the doubt that he cannot endure long periods (or even short periods) without pain, but that is no excuse to be completely oblivious of ubiquitous technology. Quote:
I'm pretty sure that if he could sit at a keyboard and operate it without pain, he could likewise master email and the internet. But then he does have a staff to do all that kind of stuff for him. | Master email and surfing the internet is such a challenging task, that it would require a staff. Quote:
Anyway......pretty stupid ad in a season full of them. | Yet, not a blatant lie like McCain made about Obama; that he would raise your taxes. It was to show that McCain is out of touch and not a catalyst for change.
Even though I am not buying into Obama's change, I thought the ad was fair game. |

(this is from 2000) Quote:
McCain himself was convinced early on that the Internet had to play a critical role in the campaign. Time and again it allowed him to leverage his money and his organization. "In the Virginia primary," McCain told me, "we needed a lot of petitions signed to get on the ballot. We had the form available to download off the Internet and got 17,000 signatures with very little trouble."
...
In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate's savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. "She's a whiz on the keyboard, and I'm so laborious," McCain admits.
| For another 2000 article noting how McCain was the first candiate to recognize the power of the web in politics (back in 1999), go here.

The article you provided, shows that McCain had a tech savory campaign back in 2000--it didn't show that McCain was computer literate.
What that article did highlight was that Rovian strategies trumped the Maverick. What this election shows, is that the Maverick is now relying upon the same same strategies that worked against him.

| If you read that and don't conclude that the Obama camp is flat out lying when they claim that he "doesn't know how to use a computer," I don't know what to tell you. |

What if the nuclear launch code program is Windows based?
Seriously, a five year old can figure it out. I'm not saying that it's necessary to be President. But I am concerned about a President's lack of intellectual curiosity.
