Ok, tomorrow, do not use or buy anything that has to do with oil. Don't use a car, or even have a friend car-pool(your extra weight and time it takes to pick you up will cause the car to go slower at the same RPM, causing more oil to be used.) Lets see how long you last before you realize the technology to COMPLETELY be free of oil does not exist yet.

Pickens is smart enough to know that it just isn't practical to think we will be completely free of oil in ten years. Unless you got proof that in 10 years we WILL be off oil and our entire society will run off...Embryos or something...don't complain. Getting off foriegn oil is a very good start.

Not the point. I hear absolutely nothing from those people about the larger goal. Nothing about getting off oil entirely. Nothing. It as if they think that oil itself is the answer rather then oil as a stalling mechanism. They fail to recognize the problem. The problem is not the rise in the price of our addiction, it is our addiction.

A start. But only a start. People generally fail to realize that. It is only a start.
