Amounts to the same thing. Same point applies.

To a smaller degree. You are in many ways right. I remember hearing Daniel Bell saying something like "I find people who decry a one-dimensional society apply one-dimensional ideas". I basically agree, though I have to make generalizations in order to also be accurate.

It seems to me, that anyone being critical or disagreeing with the Republican mainstream is a liberal. Does not really matter what politics they have, as long as they are against the Republican mainstream, then they are liberal. Hell McCain was "liberal" at some point as he was an outcast of the Republican party as he did not play ball with the Neo Cons of the 1990s.

McCain is a liberal. just because he is talking right wing now, one would be foolish to believe him.

Re: Who are these "liberals"?

McCain does embrace "growth" policies more than traditional conservatives would. The expansion of the federal government is not necessarily something to be opposed to. McCain is more of a Tough Wilsonian than realist or isolationist (though this may change).

There are probably a number of examples people can use with regard to his legislative history, but I thought I would name a couple of purely ideological differences.

Re: Who are these "liberals"?

Its all relevative im sure some people who call themselves very conservative would be seen as liberal in certain countries and vice versa.

I cant stand limousine liberals like the millionaires who have the gall to tell people the high gas prices are really a good thing.

The term Liberal has little meaning in general though its so over used i mean i think we nearly all are in favour of liberal democracies but its become more of a term used on someone you disagree with who you views as further left then you.

I am curious about the pro-choice stance. Is that a conservative/liberal issue or more of a religious one?
