Guesswork, but to make really good calls on guesswork, you would have to know the person (well, as well as you can so many miles away). Understanding their previous work, their attitudes, maybe even their writings or statements. It helps to have outside behind-the-scenes stuff as well.

In short...probability and cynicism make for awesome companions.
