who gets elected President of the United States?

I'm supporting Obama in this election, but I honestly don't think that my daily life will be all that different. I'm supporting him based on my position on certain issues, such as same sex marriage, abortion, and the Iraq War. At the end of the day I don't have a lot of confidence that either man will make any difference in these areas. So my question is this. Do you think your candidate will do much good with the issues that are most important to you?

I actually thing that as far as the three you listed, yes, they would each make a difference because their stances are so different and clear. However in my daily life??? no, I don't have confidence, however I do think that something else has to be tried because clearly what we have doing with International Policy, civil rights, economy, de-regulation and market manipulation, crumbling infra-structure. . . isn't working.

Obama would be leaps and bounds better than McCain on energy policy. He'd be leaps and bounds better than McCain on health care. He'd be mildly better than McCain on Iraq. He'd be mildly better than McCain on Supreme Court appointments.

I don't really see much difference between them on issues like same-sex marriage or abortion. Those aren't really "hot-button issues" for either of them. Neither of them seem likely to support any serious anti-gay laws at the federal level, and I doubt McCain cares enough about abortion to try to appoint a fire-breathing conservative to the Supreme Court.
