Feds: Republican treasurer embezzled over $500k
06/07/2008 @ 3:41 pm
Filed by RAW STORY
Federal prosecutors are aiming to block the sale of the home of Christopher J. Ward, former treasurer of the National Republican Congressional Committee, over allegations that he shifted over $500,000 from Senate Republicans into his personal accounts over a four-year period to make mortgage payments and fund remodeling jobs.

According to the Department of Justice and an internal NRCC audit stemming from its accusations against Ward in March, he began embezzling in 2003. $198,841 in particular has been isolated by investigators, $95,000 of which is said to be from the 2006 President's Dinner, to pay for work done on Ward's house. Also diverted, say court documents, was $72,000 to make mortgage payments. The Raw Story | Feds: Republican treasurer embezzled over $500k |

Their time is coming. |

To be fair, many of these Republicans that are jumping ship to Libertarianism are nothing but Authoritarian Conservatives that wont vote for McCain and believe the Constitution Party is too far right wing. Granted some have Libertarian leanings most are not. |

If you would like, I can send you a long list of Democrat crooks starting with John Murtha's attempt to extract bribes from Federal agents.
There is a HUGE difference, however, between Republican Criminals and Democrat Criminals; Republican criminals are castigated from the party, sent to jail and lose their political positions; Democrats are hailed as heroes and given Committee Chairmanships.
Gotta love the hypocrisy and denial we constantly see from the left these days.

Gotta love the hypocrisy and denial we constantly see from the left these days. | Except that the GOP is moving that direction as well. Vitter still has his job. Furthermore, the Democrats have at least some form of loyalty to their members. The GOP covers up the crimes and behaviors of its members for years only to throw them out when there is some evidence of pulling in other members, such as the Hastert cover up of Foley's behavior for YEARS.
Both parties are cancers. But you seem to refuse to acknowledge that your party is one of them. |

Both parties are cancers. But you seem to refuse to acknowledge that your party is one of them. | In order to make your statements correct, you need to state them such:
"IN MY OPINION, the GOP is moving that direction as well. Vitter still has his job. "
Again, the FACTS are not your friend if you want to debate criminality and attempt to make the pathetic argument that Republicans are corrupt.
Vitter still has his job because he has not been criminally prosecuted and found guilty. I am sure you still believe in the same constitutional protections one wants to give terrorists and enemy combatants apply to Vitter don't you? Or is this another DOUBLE standard that matches your political philosophy? |
