Simple. Bush saw science as a tool to kill people and little more. Obama does not share that view, instead viewing science as a tool for all kinds of things, from solving domestic information sharing services, medical breakthroughs and agriculture. NIH funding under Bush went down while allocations for science on new weapons went up.

Hahah, for awhile now, I've taken to calling Obama Bush 3. Obama supporters don't like it too much. But I also laughed at them when they talked seriously about hope and change and all that other political nonsense spouted to bamboozle the People into thinking the Obama wasn't just a standard Chicago politician.
