My Way News - Obama not closing door on possible health care tax

WASHINGTON (AP) - With lawmakers trying to crunch the numbers on a $1 trillion health care overhaul, President Barack Obama is leaving the door open to a new tax on employer-provided health care benefits.

Senior senators said Wednesday the benefits tax could be essential for the complex plan to be fully financed.

So is this the same "tax" that he slammed McCain on during the Campaign?

If he enacts this tax, what will your opinion be?

If he enacts the other half of McCain's proposal--a $7,500 refundable credit for purchasing one's own health insurance--it will be a tiny step in the right direction.

If he enacts just the tax, then he will strip millions of health care coverage.

With his demonstrated contempt for others, the second is the more likely scenario.
