The line that followed explained the line he quoted. The two sentences work together to make the point that saying "stop it" to some one you have no power over is going to have no effect.

There are a certain number of posters here whose entire positions and arguments would completely crumble if they tried even just a little bit to read the full context of the opposing side's arguments or apply just a modicum of reading comprehension.

The alternative is easier, I guess.

Edit: I should also add that reading the full context would reveal at least a quarter more of posts as actually being in agreement with the opposing side.

That was the point. I did exactly what he is crying about Obama doing, except without making a joke of it. I then, clearly, made reference to the fact that what I did was just as futile as Obama trying to control the media.
