Ok now Im confused people say that the Republicans wants to be a conservative party only, yet its leadership is putting up centrists.

Hmm, while part of me can understand the logic of trying to run a more "moderate" republican in pure blue states, some of the things listed seem to be legitimate toss up states that they're conceeding by going the moderate route. It'd be one thing to try and go moderate in a state up in the North East where republicans routinely and continually are trounced, it's another thing to go for it in say...Virginia....which is a prety divided state.

What this kind of reminds me of is a sports team that goes out and buys a bunch of free agents simply hoping to "win now", sacrificing draft picks or chemistry in the locker room in the future for the chance to "win now".

To me, this seems like a failed way to go at things. Its scrapping to win for winnings sake immedietely and not seeking to try and actually do something good. I don't really care if we have a republican majority if a majority of that majority doesn't even vote for conservative things. Then all we have is republican philosophy getting blamed because republicans voted for things despite them not being conservative ideals and we just further moving the choices in this country to "left and lefter".

Personally, I'd almost rather see the Republican Party suffer another defeat or two but st art working towards a real ground swell of getting back to balanced conservatism and bringing THAT to all 50 states.

Hey, as a note. I have gone to a number of Tea Party movements. You want to act like a juvenile 10 year old on the school yard calling names like "tea bagger" for those of us that have gone to them then don't be shocked when I take your attack against an entire movement, of which I'm a part of, in a thread I'm in as a personal attack. You want to act like an insulting jerk, then expect to be reacted to as one.

Moderately liberal – meaning they like many aspects of the democratic party already.

Many of us see absolutely nothing of value in the democratic party. We find the platform revolting and would have nothing to do with it.
