No wonder he is going to make America Great Again. He only has to stop convincing his supporters that it is in ruins. Let's get rebuilding.

I think the image most Trump supporters view as concerning are of closed down factories.

I think the quote Trump had that emphasized the "Make America Great Again" slogan was when he said, "I remember when cars were made in Michigan and you couldn't drink the water in Mexico, now cars are made in Mexico but you can't drink the water in Flint.". This is one of the causes driving the movement.

There was a time in America when "Made in America" was seen as prestigious and now that has largely become ignored. My issue is that rather than focus on government controlling that and instituting policies against it there should be campaigning and educating people that by buying items that are made in America you are supporting American workers and as long as people continue to buy, for example, a Ford made in Mexico there is no financial incentive for companies to remain here and support Americans.

Remember when Wal Mart used to proudly brag that they had made in America products and built their business around them?

And they still would do that if the products they carry were still made in America; Alas, most are notl

Vaguely, It sounds familiar but I honestly can't remember. When I think about Walmart it is typically those old "roll back" prices commercials.

And why is that?

Why is what? They would carry American made products because it was a great marketing strategy to do that. They don't any more because most of those products are not outsourced for manufacture elsewhere. And that is due to laws, rules, and regs that makes it more profitable for manufacturers to manufacture overseas than it is to do that in America.

And Trump wants to stop that an put a price on such choices.

Will the right support such measures?

Don't buy into the propaganda, a lot of goods sold at Walmart are still made in America.

I trust Trump and the Republicans will do what is best for America.

Yes but a lot aren't too. And they don't use that as a marketing point anymore. I am certain that was not their choice though; it was just the reality of many of the products their customers want.

Sure, I remember when GM and Chrysler where ready to collapse, and the tea baggers where more than happy to allow them to. I remember when they thought it would be fine to allow the banks to collapse.

I'm so glad that NOW it is important to not allow a few jobs to leave.

Funny that.

How is that relevant to this discussion? Many of Trump's supporters particularly in the rust belt were Obama supporters and union members, I'm pretty sure they were for the bailout of the auto industry.......

The funny thing is that pretty much speaks to Trump's message. He is a business man and knows that in order to remain profitable you have to outsource production to other countries. He wants to make it where companies can produce in the US and remain profitable.

Uh, the most uniform set of Trump supporters....were the baggers, that was your context, "supporters".

Only 25% of Michigan Union members voted for Dump, not even a majority.

Again, it is WONDERFUL that Dump supporters want to stop "factory" (we call them "manufacturing") job losses, the point remains, where were they in 08?
