This forum, in its own way, is a microcosm of the country. As such, this thread is an experiment. With such division here and in the nation as a whole, is it possible to restore and maintain friendly relations? So please answer these questions as honestly as you can.

How do you think people who voted/supported the other candidate were feeling? How do they feel now?

How were you feeling before the election? How do you feel after the election?

What kind of outcome do you think supporters for the other candidate are looking for in the country?

What kind of outcome do you want for the country?

Are you still angry or resentful towards the supporters of the other candidate?

Do you think they are angry or resentful towards you?

What do you need from the supporters of the other candidate to respect and trust them as fellow citizens?

As a Centrist, I can let go of my desire to see the other candidate win and hold onto hope that the guy I considered a buffoon figures out how to fly the plane.

I am thrilled to see Obama is acting uncharacteristically like an intelligent adult re the will of the people and the transition of power.

I would love to see DP members do likewise.

We'll see....

I'm less angry than I was on election day. I understand that most Trump supporters believe he wants to create good jobs for the working class and see him as a symbol of change from a system that has been grinding them down for years. The racist or sexist factors that are alive in the Trump movement are not shared by the majority of his followers and so I do not judge them based on that minority. I am concerned about things like tolerance of Muslims,Mexicans, and other minority groups, but I will have hope that as president Trump will change his hard rhetoric and loudly condemn intolerance for the greater good of all Americans.

I'm ready to move forward even if I am incredibly skeptical of Trump's sincerity.

Hillary fans were cocky and excited. Trump fans were defiant but resolute. Now? Hillary fans are shellshocked and angry. Trump fans are elated.

How were you feeling before the election? How do you feel after the election?
Repulsed at the thoguht of an expected win by and corronation of President Clinton.
After: Repulsed at the though of a President Trump

What kind of outcome do you think supporters for the other candidate are looking for in the country?
Legalized marijuana. And lots of free samples.

What kind of outcome do you want for the country?
For everyone to get it all out of their system and then chill. But it wont happen. Its going to be an ugly 4 years.

Are you still angry or resentful towards the supporters of the other candidate?
I voted Huntsman. And frankly, beyond Shrubnose I hope everyone finds peace. I think with Shrubnose's continued antics he should have to eat **** sandwiches daily for the next 4 years. Beyond that...peace...love...progress.

Do you think they are angry or resentful towards you?
Easy...dont know...dont care.

What do you need from the supporters of the other candidate to respect and trust them as fellow citizens?
Be pissed if it makes you feel better...but follow the laws.

How do you think people who voted/supported the other candidate were feeling? How do they feel now?
Cocky, smug and bigoted. Not racially bigoted, but bigoted in the sense that they are absolutely intolerant of the other parties.
How were you feeling before the election? How do you feel after the election?
Feeling that I would have to call my financial advisor to plan on how to protect my money from a new wave of massive taxation.
What kind of outcome do you think supporters for the other candidate are looking for in the country?
They are thinking that Trump is actually gonna round up everyone who's not white. He's gonna start WWIII. All those stupid and ignorant notions that have been building up for 2 years.
What kind of outcome do you want for the country?
Less regulation. Less taxation. More security against those who hate us. Laws written for all people, and not just certain people.
Are you still angry or resentful towards the supporters of the other candidate?
They are the party of hate and bigotry. Vandalizing. Rioting. Assaulting people who didn't vote for their candidate. Am I expected to respect that type of behavior?
Do you think they are angry or resentful towards you?
Absolutely. 100%.
What do you need from the supporters of the other candidate to respect and trust them as fellow citizens?
Personally, for most of them, I do not think they are capable of providing anything for me to gain their respect.
