Polical intimidation by leftists via vandalism is new normal

And a desire to be accurate!

Not really. Your word was way too specious. It's also purposefully distancing language/position. I like leftist. It's short, sweet, and sounds militant, as the people who it's describing tends to be.

I'm just glad you didn't ask what a thesaurus is. I've had some students think it was a dinosaur.
But in all fairness, it does have two legit pronunciations! ;)

But I'm a product of Catholic Grammar School - back when we were taught by nuns! We had to memorize the dictionary (a concise version), and actively use Roget's in our writing. This all culminated with a solid run through Funk & Wagnalls The Elements of Style, to add an exclamation point to it all!

Reading, Writing, 'Rithmetic. Non-stop and grueling. With daily memorization homework assignments, multiple writing assignments every night, and quizzes first thing every morning - including a quiz on the dictionary words for that day. Every subject had reading, memorization, and writing every day. That's what our days encompassed for 8 long years!

But years later in adulthood, I came to appreciate this so much that I insisted on putting my kids through the same! :2razz:

BTW - I was raised in the States, my wife in Asia. In her Asian Convent School the nuns had them memorize the dictionary, too! We laughed about it, when we found we had that in common. So it seems this was a general Catholic Grammar School thing, at least back then!

Alright, I'm not going to re-open this debate!
