The Republicans have been peddling hate and fear.... hate and fear of groups of people, including Muslims and Mexicans and to a lesser extent, blacks. Ascribing such things to a class of people is bigotry. When such is not overt, it is covert in the notion that the Republicans in general, and Trump in particular have provided safe harbor for bigots and racists.
this is not at all the same thing has having a "hate and fear" of particular individual in a particular circumstance. One is about a class of people that one does not know;the other is about a particular behavior of one individual we do. Suggesting that what the Republicans are peddling is the same thing as the fear of some Democrats, including me, of a Trump presidency is somewhere between complete ignorance of racism and simply being asinine.
First, I do not "hate" Trump. I don't hate. That said, I fear a Trump presidency. I always believe arrogance and ignorance to be a very bad combination; when mix with narcissism, its beyond lethal. Trump lacks the experience, the temperament and, most important, the humility to be President. What is scary is the number of uneducated and ignorant people that think is qualified. Fortunately, in this case, the sane still out number in the insane, so he will never be President.
My whole point was, and is completely consistent of the Republican party self-assessment of 2012 (previously posted) is they are on a path to marginalize themselves if they do not change course. I am sorry you did not understand that point.

I, personally, on THIS thread, have had the mirror image with only the groups you mention names changed. Its Trump, who you yourself have demonized to the point of making him a monster, and others here, more than one, have singled out white people, particularly straight white males, and Christians. The politics of division and creating hyphenated groups of Americans so that we can fight amongst and against ourselves is generally a tactic utilized only by the left/libs/progressives. I do not like this manner of fight, but your side has pushed and pushed and pushed, poked and poked and poked until you got a fight, and Trump is a street fighter. I don't particularly like the style, your side's style or his style, but if someone brings a knife to a fist fight, you better have a knife, too.
Your particular description of hate and fear, with your blindness towards what you think you and Democrats are doing vs what Republicans, and Trump specifically, are doing, is quite laughable. You can plead ignorance, or as in your case, call someone else ignorant, but its very plain to see, you are just voluntarily blind and refuse to look. Its a distinction without much of a difference, certainly not in degree unless you want to have your side take credit for doing this kind of thing longer and on a more constant basis. You certainly do not see folks from my side en mass trying to shut down free speech... and the most current trend of the left's disruption to the point of violence, is criminal and indeed scary.
Ha ha ha, only the uneducated could like a Trump over a Hillary? Wow, now that is the height of ignorance. People, almost all people, are tired of the lack of freedom imposed, mainly by the left, the handcuffing of our first Americian liberty of freedom of speech...that has made us all almost claustrophobic. The completely ludicrous, and unenforceable without a totalitarian regime, idea being pushed that one is not allowed to offend anyone else is in truth Anti-American and, to turn it on itself, offensive.
Give lib client groups an inch to fart and they stink up the entire nation... and its not just the smell, it hurts the eyes, the pocketbook, the heart and the soul of America.
Also tired of the trend towards certain family names dominating, controlling politics at the top. Kennedy, Bush, Clinton. I also particularly detest corrupt politicians, and while you may doubt it, the Clintons are corrupt politicians, both of them. And someone has to stem the tide of the American value system being tossed into the wastebasket day after day after day, new lows being achieved by the liberals. All going to show that the cries of slippery slopes are all too valid.
I think you need to have the Dems start reassessing themselves, start becoming more American values oriented again, that is where our, the American people's problem will be solved. Without that you will force folks like Trump to the forefront to take you on in your own style. Your folks have been for years doing sneak attacks Pearl Harbor style on valid American institutions and it has become apparent we, the Americans remaining with appreciation of American values need to come back and and drop the A bomb, this time its Trump, on your side's untenable choices.
