Are Trump's Attacks on Clinton Working?

All one needs to do is look at the decimated middle class and the declining quality of most families balance sheet to be sure that those 66% of the americans who say that America is on the wrong track have a legit point.
Stop dismissing them and their opinions, or explaining it by claiming versions of a mind meld controlling them.
This is not who we are
It is un American.
Seriously.

Unreal. You're backing a guy pointing at Muslims, Mexicans, immigrants, and women as the source of all your problems. A guy who publicly makes fun of a handicapped reporter. Then you write this. Geeze.
What is really sick are the GOP leaders, like Paul Ryan, who are desperately straddling the fence, admitting that Trump is "the definition of a racist" but still backing him anyway. Disgusting. This election is really stripping the mask off a lot of politicians.
Meg Whitman—former eBay CEO, former Republican candidate for California governor, and current mortal enemy of Donald Trump—asked Speaker of the House Paul Ryan how he could endorse a guy who's just the latest version of Hitler and Mussolini:
Ryan explained the difficult political situation he was in, as the leader of House Republicans. While spending a couple of weeks last month deliberating about an endorsement, many of his members increased pressure on him to back Trump. Many of them represent districts where Republican voters are strongly supportive of Trump, Ryan explained....The audience was described as largely anti-Trump yet sympathetic to Ryan's predicament.

Awe, poor Paul, being put in the position of having to show some principled leadership. That's just not fair!

I am quite sure you cannot wait. I think those that backed Lenin and Mao also wanted their leader in power. They, however, were not in the American system... what you knowingly hope for is a travesty.

Funny, I was just reading about old-time demagogues and tyrants. Where was that? Oh yeah: "A tenuous peace in the upper echelons of the Republican Party showed signs of unraveling this weekend as a major donor compared Donald J. Trump to Hitler and Mussolini."

I'll be very surprised if Trump breaks 200 electoral college votes.
The Dem's will win back control of the Senate.

So by "shameless," do you mean her shameless support for a woman's right to choose?
Her shameless acknowledgement that human-caused global warming is real?
He shameless support for increasing the minimum wage?
Her shameless support for the Affordable Care Act?
Her shameless support for early childhood education?
Her shameless support to invest in infrastructure, education and scientific research?
Her shameless support for labor?
Her shameless belief that we should make voting easier, not harder?

Hillary will be great. The USA is on a roll despite everything conservatives do to try to block our economic and social progress.
Yes, shameless.

Shameless in a woman's right to choose to kill her own babies.

Shameless in support of wage that is in-congruent with the work produced, the skills involved as well as a multitude of other good reasons

Shameless in a scam the left is attempting to perpetrate upon the world in an effort to gain more power

Shameless in support for helping foist upon the American people something we did not want

Shameless in support of a program known not to work

Shameless in that she did nothing, nor did Obama, but to sell us a stimulus that squandered the money dedicated to infrastructure

Shameless in support of organized labor... so it would support her back

Shameless in support of making it easier to steal the vote, which Dems have a penchant for doing

Hillary will look great anyhow, if they can find an orange tent big enough to form into a prison jumpsuit. Might want to check down in Sarasota where Ringling winter quarters...might have some left over big tents [ don't know if they are orange ] or Barnum and Bailey I think is in Tampa, might have moved to Ellenton, not sure.

Orange, they say now, is the new Black, so maybe she will feel a part of the prison minority.

I know all of that. You are not "enlightening" me. The Republican party is kind of like a franchise, only as good as your local office.

As a national party, however, they are terribly weak, at the moment (things will one day be better). Until they read and embrace their own self-analysis, they will remain so.

GOP.com: Growth and Opportunity Project

Peddling hate and fear is not the ticket to long-term success, especially when the target of hate includes American citizens... FrankenTrump is not helping the brand.

View attachment 67202692

But, like a drunk that has hit rock bottom, perhaps the Republican party will finally wake up after Trump and seek the help it needs.

Until such time, however, they will not win the White House, they will lose the Senate and likely lose the popular vote for the House (but retain control because of the most excellent gerrymandering of 2011)....and, only if they fix the national message, will they have hope that their local franchisee's can continue to prosper.
Wow, you folks sure know how to hit the sauce early don't ya?

Just proved you wrong, completely wrong and you agree you are wrong... but then you try to make it out like wow, the Republicans are in such a good position its bad because of the addition of your pop-psycho analysis? Btw, how is it that you fix your crow, fried, stir fried, boiled, steamed, raw... doesn't matter to me, its your caw caw :lamo:lamo:lamo

Then, ironic joke of jokes, you accuse Republicans of peddling hate and fear while at the same time you are peddling hate and fear of Trump [ you even made him into a monster ]... can you not see yourself in the mirror, either? Jesus, the hypocritical stupidity of the left, it never fails to amuse.

I don't in my wildest imagination expect that the Trump presidency will make you any smarter about how politics actually works, but its worth a shot.

Whoa, somebody out there in the nethers says something stupid about Trump and the left stream media, picks it up , eh? Why don't you worry about something important. How about find out what Obama and Hillary were actually doing the night they left our guys to die in Benghazi, why for like 8 hours they called for but got absolutely no assistance? How come you don't bring up the Hillary email scandal, wherein she is either totally incompetent or a criminal lying to stay out of prison? Why don't you, or the left stream media, dig into how the Clinton's went from dead broke [a lie] to being the hundreds of millions-aires they are today? I bet Hitler and Mussolini did that sort of stuff and got away with it also.

All legit to you I expect... nothing to see here, just move along, eh?

I have the sense you get surprised by a whole lotta things.

I am fully aware that liberals/progressives are congenitally lacking in shame, proven time and time again. So, we know you do not care, if you cared you certainly wouldn't be voting for Clinton and at the same time trying to make a big deal about the faults of Trump, yano?

But Jesus man, do you have a true bone in your body, do you have any strength in your not so well thought out convictions? This is debate, so you feel you don't have to do anything but assert your unsupportable opinions and then what, roll your eyes, toss a few pfffttts in the mix, shrug your shoulders? That is supposed to settle matters, that is what YOU call debate?

You cannot pawn off my assertions as simple hatred. You cannot defend against my assertions so you try to make it about me. That, pal, is not debate... that is plain old disingenuous piled high horse dumplings you are trying to feed the rest of us.

We aren't buying nor eating it.

Oh, and by the way, I am not a fellow member of your new age yoga class, so stop with the false nurturing and concern over my health. I live in the mountains of Panama, walk up and down the mountains, swim in the cool clean mountain streams. You need to worry about judgement and a little more about our country, eh?

Oh, I do not "pawn" off your silly ravings as simple hatred.

It is complex hatred, apparently unrelenting, all consuming hatred. The kind of hatred only a sick individual could display the way you do.

It is a sick, repulsive hatred that is mitigated only by the fact that obviously you a rather sick individual.

I envy your environment...but I would not be part of your mind for any riches or glory on the planet.

I do think Donald Trump's attacks on Hillary Clinton are more likely to help her win the presidency...than to lessen her chances.

Okay?

Jesus dude, do you have anything else other than ad homs?

I mean, you know, like facts maybe, to assist your pop psycho analysis of Trump and... me? To you I am now the problem? I bring up legitimate criminal, corrupt and lying actions by the candidate you esteem so highly, and it is I that is a sick individual? Wow, I get it, to take our eyes off the correct object under the microscope, well, just unreasonably attack and demonize Trump [ again, you folks should look in the mirror sometime, might scare you ] and when that doesn't quite work, when the other side gets a bit too close to the truth you go all rabid after the messenger who brings the truth.

Check your bib brother, I bet you got all kinds of slobbery bubbly spittle running down the front.

And I can tell you, I feel sorry for you that you have chosen to associate with a party that supports brining a criminal into the most prestigious and powerful government office in the land, perhaps the world.

Shame on you... oh yeah, you don't feel shame, my bad.

I am sure Trump's attacks on Hillary Clinton...the kind of sick, over-the-top, name-calling attacks he is making...will help, rather than hinder Hillary's chances of being elected to the presidency.

In a sense, I thank him for his cooperation.

The kinds of sick, over-the-top, name calling, childish attacks some conservatives (such as you) are making...also will help, rather than hinder her chances.

I thank you...and them...for the aid, even though it is unintended.

I do pity people who have to live with that kind of rage and hatred...but I guess that is a process of their choosing...so it is right that they must live with it. ;)

Why not, instead of continuing to be a real jerk about this, calling me and Trump sick, over the top, childish ...why the hell don't you just prove me and Trump wrong about our assertions regarding her thighness, the now coronated over-the-Hillary, and her lies [proven], her corruption [ just follow the money ], her lack of any particular achievement [goes almost without saying as there really isn't much there there] and her obvious circumventing of the observance of strict laws regarding national security and proper maintenance of communication/classified documents/state secrets [ no real doubt she broke the law ]?

Its impossible to overcome, so you can't debate it honestly, you will lose. You have only ad homs so far, not a single fact that I can recall that you have put forth in her behalf.

What I pity, I truly do, is the naive who don't know any better, the low interest low information liberal that was brought up that way and has never really reflected deeply on their ideology. You obviously know better, which is more along the lines of being rather deplorable. Certainly not honest nor credible.

Once again, I thank you and others like you who will push Hillary Clinton's favorability ratings up with your hate-filled, childish rants.

I think Donald Trump's rants will end up being a positive for her...and I am sure the rants of the haters like you will do the same thing.

Are we okay?

Obama and Hillary were actually doing the night they left our guys to die in Benghaziings.

etc., etc., etc.

The right-wing smear machine has been going full steam since before 1992 trying to pin anything, anything at all on Hillary. And they fail. And they fail. And they fail.

To normal people it's clear. Republicans are just doing this to provide the appearance of malfeasance. The know that if someone is constantly accused of crimes, people can't help but start believing it over time. Republicans have even admitted that this is the strategy.
Let's take Benghazi, since you (predictably as the rain) bring it up. It was investigated by the FBI. By a U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, by five separate House Committees, by the State Department's own Accountability Review Board, and by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. So after they found nothing incriminating what did the Republicans do? Launch another investigation! The point, OBVIOUSLY, was just to keep it in the news. Period.
A second Republican congressman admitted in a radio interview that the House Select Committee on Benghazi was convened as a partisan political attack against Hillary Clinton.

On September 29, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy boasted that the Benghazi panel had been intended to and succeeded in hurting Clinton's poll numbers in the presidential race. A former Benghazi committee staffer corroborated the claim, saying the "partisan investigation" had shifted its focus almost exclusively to Clinton. In light of the admission, the New York Times editorial board called on Republicans to "shut down the Benghazi Committee," which it deemed a "charade" and a "laughable crusade."
Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY) admitted in a radio interview on New York's Keeler in the Morning that Clinton was a target of the Benghazi panel and that McCarthy "had it right to begin with," as Think Progress reported. Hanna explained, "I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton."

Here's the results of the House Select Intelligence Committee:
The House Select Intelligence Committee—controlled by Republicans—has been investigating the Benghazi attacks in minute detail for two years. Today, with the midterm elections safely past, they issued their findings. Their exoneration of the White House was sweeping and nearly absolute. So sweeping that I want to quote directly from the report's summary, rather than paraphrasing it. Here it is:

The Committee first concludes that the CIA ensured sufficient security for CIA facilities in Benghazi....Appropriate U.S. personnel made reasonable tactical decisions that night, and the Committee found no evidence that there was either a stand down order or a denial of available air support....

Second, the Committee finds that there was no intelligence failure prior to the attacks. In the months prior, the IC provided intelligence about previous attacks and the increased threat environment in Benghazi, but the IC did not have specific, tactical warning of the September 11 attacks.

Third, the Committee finds that a mixed group of individuals, including those affiliated with Al Qa'ida, participated in the attacks....

Fourth, the Committee concludes that after the attacks, the early intelligence assessments and the Administration's initial public narrative on the causes and motivations for the attacks were not fully accurate....There was no protest. The CIA only changed its initial assessment about a protest on September 24, 2012, when closed caption television footage became available on September 18, 2012 (two days after Ambassador Susan Rice spoke)....

Fifth, the Committee finds that the process used to generate the talking points HPSCI asked for—and which were used for Ambassador Rice's public appearances—was flawed....

Finally, the Committee found no evidence that any officer was intimidated, wrongly forced to sign a nondisclosure agreement or otherwise kept from speaking to Congress, or polygraphed because of their presence in Benghazi. The Committee also found no evidence that the CIA conducted unauthorized activities in Benghazi and no evidence that the IC shipped arms to Syria.

Oh, I am okay, I must question whether you are or not. You have proven here you have little more than agenda driven opinions, you've refuse multiple requests that you provide facts.. and your only resulting line of attack is through ad hominem.

I have no problem with opinion and eclecticism, we all use those. But when you are so adamant someone else is not only wrong, but sick in the head... but you give not one item to prove any of what you say? Hey, I ll remember to avoid this again.

Waste your own time, Frank. Wish you better luck in your future...ummmm... "debates".

The Republicans have been peddling hate and fear.... hate and fear of groups of people, including Muslims and Mexicans and to a lesser extent, blacks. Ascribing such things to a class of people is bigotry. When such is not overt, it is covert in the notion that the Republicans in general, and Trump in particular have provided safe harbor for bigots and racists.

this is not at all the same thing has having a "hate and fear" of particular individual in a particular circumstance. One is about a class of people that one does not know;the other is about a particular behavior of one individual we do. Suggesting that what the Republicans are peddling is the same thing as the fear of some Democrats, including me, of a Trump presidency is somewhere between complete ignorance of racism and simply being asinine.

First, I do not "hate" Trump. I don't hate. That said, I fear a Trump presidency. I always believe arrogance and ignorance to be a very bad combination; when mix with narcissism, its beyond lethal. Trump lacks the experience, the temperament and, most important, the humility to be President. What is scary is the number of uneducated and ignorant people that think is qualified. Fortunately, in this case, the sane still out number in the insane, so he will never be President.

My whole point was, and is completely consistent of the Republican party self-assessment of 2012 (previously posted) is they are on a path to marginalize themselves if they do not change course. I am sorry you did not understand that point.

Just plain hypocritical.

I, personally, on THIS thread, have had the mirror image with only the groups you mention names changed. Its Trump, who you yourself have demonized to the point of making him a monster, and others here, more than one, have singled out white people, particularly straight white males, and Christians. The politics of division and creating hyphenated groups of Americans so that we can fight amongst and against ourselves is generally a tactic utilized only by the left/libs/progressives. I do not like this manner of fight, but your side has pushed and pushed and pushed, poked and poked and poked until you got a fight, and Trump is a street fighter. I don't particularly like the style, your side's style or his style, but if someone brings a knife to a fist fight, you better have a knife, too.

Your particular description of hate and fear, with your blindness towards what you think you and Democrats are doing vs what Republicans, and Trump specifically, are doing, is quite laughable. You can plead ignorance, or as in your case, call someone else ignorant, but its very plain to see, you are just voluntarily blind and refuse to look. Its a distinction without much of a difference, certainly not in degree unless you want to have your side take credit for doing this kind of thing longer and on a more constant basis. You certainly do not see folks from my side en mass trying to shut down free speech... and the most current trend of the left's disruption to the point of violence, is criminal and indeed scary.

Ha ha ha, only the uneducated could like a Trump over a Hillary? Wow, now that is the height of ignorance. People, almost all people, are tired of the lack of freedom imposed, mainly by the left, the handcuffing of our first Americian liberty of freedom of speech...that has made us all almost claustrophobic. The completely ludicrous, and unenforceable without a totalitarian regime, idea being pushed that one is not allowed to offend anyone else is in truth Anti-American and, to turn it on itself, offensive.

Give lib client groups an inch to fart and they stink up the entire nation... and its not just the smell, it hurts the eyes, the pocketbook, the heart and the soul of America.

Also tired of the trend towards certain family names dominating, controlling politics at the top. Kennedy, Bush, Clinton. I also particularly detest corrupt politicians, and while you may doubt it, the Clintons are corrupt politicians, both of them. And someone has to stem the tide of the American value system being tossed into the wastebasket day after day after day, new lows being achieved by the liberals. All going to show that the cries of slippery slopes are all too valid.

I think you need to have the Dems start reassessing themselves, start becoming more American values oriented again, that is where our, the American people's problem will be solved. Without that you will force folks like Trump to the forefront to take you on in your own style. Your folks have been for years doing sneak attacks Pearl Harbor style on valid American institutions and it has become apparent we, the Americans remaining with appreciation of American values need to come back and and drop the A bomb, this time its Trump, on your side's untenable choices.

That is quite a ramble. I finally had the time to sit down and force myself through it. Interesting you chose to blame the Democrats for the rise of Trump. It seems to me he came up through the Republican party as somehow that party failed to pay attention to its base.

1. I never said all Trump supporters are uneducated, but that is his core constituency is the uneducated voter.

Who Are Donald Trump's Supporters? - The Atlantic
Trump?s Core Constituency: Losers - Barron's
5 myths about Trump supporters - POLITICO

2. Interesting that you think the left is a threat to freedom of speech and Trump is its champion.

Donald Trump on libel laws: We're going to 'open' them up - POLITICO

Yes, interesting

3. Interesting that you think those that do not think like you are un-American. My understanding that our country is a melting pot of peoples and ideas. While most of us are capitalists that support representative government, we all differ on the degree to which government should be responsible for leveling the competitive landscape, protecting workers rights and providing a social safety net. The argument of the role government (and role of fed v local gov) is on-going. It is very much at the heart of our democracy. There is no right answer nor American answer, other than to let the people decide.

4. I appreciate the fact you don't like the politics of the Clinton's, don't trust them or are just tired of a political class. The Republican party should have answered the Clinton's with a credible candidate that was somewhat prepared for the job. Unfortuately, the Republican party process did not nominate a credible candidate.

5. Trump has zero experience in government, yet is applying to be its CEO. Now, this might be ok if he had the humility to understand there is much he needs to learn and surrounded himself with top notch experts to advise him. Instead, we get a man-child. He has almost no policy, hence is unable to give a policy speech, other than "trust me, I'll be great" His campaign consists substantially of childish insults and unsubstantiated accusations (see also Obama was born in Kenya). He is woefully ignorant and too arrogant to shore up his education deficiencies. Throw in his thin-skinned narcissism and we have a formula for a complete disaster. This does make him an monster of a candidate. (not just my opinion. the list of Republicans that believe that is substantial. Do you need a dozen or so links or will you agree?)
