Trump: 'I would close up our borders' after Brussels

I think we've seen this before...

1) Democrat president puts head in sand while terrorists plot during his last year of presidency.
2) Republican president takes office.
3) Before republican president can do anything about it, terrorists carry out plot against USA.
4) Stupid citizens blame republican president, while head-in-sand democrat ex-president gets off scot-free.

Of course, that's patently false, Clinton went after bin Laden and his people warned Bush's incoming staff what a pain in the ass Osama was going to be. They were summarily ignored.

Nothing concrete in either bit more importantly your second link had this to say.
The Bush and Obama administrations used drones to conduct hundreds of lethal airstrikes against militant groups in northwest Pakistan during those years, stoking widespread public anger.

Before Bush even invaded Afghanistan or Iraq I always stated that the US is going to recruit more terrorists by way of their actions. Far more than Bin Laden could ever achieve. Connect the dots.

Clinton and Obama do share some of the responsibility but not anywhere close to as much as Bush does.

I don't think Obama shares any of the responsibility for 9/11, but hey, who am I to absolve a president for something that happened seven years before he was elected.

I do agree that Clinton shares SOME culpability regarding the failures that allowed 9/11 to happen. So does Bush. However, I don't think either of them share much of it.

The majority of the culpability that allowed 9/11 to happen was general complacency and the idea that the unthinkable could never happen. Which is not to absolve anyone, but to simply put it in perspective.

As much as I loathe GWB, I've never once thought he or his administration actually let anything happen. I really do believe this took us by surprise, and he did the best he could in the immediate aftermath. Gore would have done the same had he been elected.

It often seems like nobody has ever heard of the concept of blowback or, to put it in terms fans of ancient mythology can understand, the Hydra.

Look at a list of the top 10 most populated countries.
China, India, United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Russia and Japan.

All those countries are mostly dirt poor except the US and Japan. Overpopulation leads to poverty. Wake the hell up.

What nonsense. First of all, you are confusing LARGE countries with densely populated countries (Russia is mostly empty, for your information). Secondly, the density of population and poverty do not correlate at all: rich Belgium has 920 people per square mile, poor Mongolia has 4. Where do you expect famine, in densely populated Japan or in thinly populated Ethiopia? South Korea has, probably, most people packed in, among large developed countries (about 1,300 per sq. mi.) - USA has 85 - but compare its economic and cultural well-being with that of North Korea (about 500), after just a few decades of going separate ways.

Wealth does not grow on trees. It is created by people, in the process of working together, trading, investing. Other things given equal, the more people are integrated into a productive society, the better. People are the ultimate resource.

And if a society is dysfunctional, if government is abusive, infrastructures are primitive and entrepreneurship is absent, it will be poor regardless of how many or how few people live there: It is just that in a crowded urban slum poverty is more concentrated and visible than in a rural setting.

Same question..

Yes, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz could close the border to Muslims. But there is an easy loophole there. All the Muslims would have to do is lie and claim they are Christians. That's what Republicans do.

oooooh snap

The United States has granted 680,000 green cards to immigrants from Muslim-majority countries over the past five years and is expected to grant another 660,000 over the next half-decade, according to Department of Homeland Security statistics.

Between 2009 and 2013, DHS issued some 680,000 green cards to migrants, including refugees, from Iraq, Pakistan, Egypt, and Bangladesh, among other countries. Another 660,000 green cards are likely to be granted over the next five years though this number could much be higher.

And if history repeats itself.............in a few years they ...on average........will have a better education than you......have a higher income....many will be professionals......as many will own successful businesses which can hire the likes of you...........

You should fall on your knees and thank God for the USA Green cars program

And in those five years, (from what I can tell) only one of them committed a terrorist act - and she was not connected to ISIL.

Yet in that time there have been numerous terrorist attacks perpetrated by American non-Muslims killing many people.

So 0 in 680,000 have committed acts of terrorism perpetrated by ISIL? That sounds like a pretty great job of screening to me.

Trump is a xenophobic idiot who is drumming up hate to try and get into the White House.

Adolph Hitler had his Jews. Donald Trump has his Muslims.

Little Support for Terrorism Among Muslim Americans | Pew Research Center

http://www.newsweek.com/16-french-citizens-support-isis-poll-finds-266795
16% of French citizens have a positive opinion of ISIS. This percentage increases among younger respondents, spiking at 27% for those aged 18-24.

The survey also tested attitudes in Britain and Germany and found that 7% of British citizens responded favourably to ISIS. However, UK polling showed an inverse demographic trend to that of France, with support for ISIS rising with age. 4% of 18-24-year-olds saying they either strongly or somewhat support ISIS, compared to 6% of 24-35-year-olds surveyed and 11% of 35-44-year-olds. Positive attitudes to ISIS in Germany showed less divergence, remaining between 3% and 4% for all age groups.
