So, Why Exactly Did the GOP Originally Reject Kasich?

"If we would just slow down and heal the divisions within our own families. Be willing to listen to the person that lives next door, when you’re in such a hurry to get out of the driveway or such a hurry to get out of the shopping center,Just slow down, look ‘em in the eye. Give ‘em a hug. "It doesn’t take government. It takes our hearts. Our hearts to change America,""

Kasich Post New Hampshire speech.

I am sure that this lecture would be useful someplace, maybe a dorm RA who is talking to the floor on move in day trying to set up a low work year, but most certainly not something that an R POTUS candidate should be saying in 2016. It was an unwitting admission that he does not get it, that we need to keep looking for a champion to fix Washington.

I agree......IMHO ......Kasich is the only one of the 17 clowns that has the qualities and experience to be President of the United States...........

Could that be the reason why he never caught on?..............over qualified for the position.............

In GOP Land, anyone qualified or likely to win in a general election isn't going to catch on. That's how they roll right now. I expect to see a bloodbath in November.

We dont believe that Trump loses to Hillary. The elite have been wrong about everything, and Trump should have no problem both taking her down and becoming cheerleader in chef, promoting causes that both the Left and the Right can get behind.

Has he even won 50% of the GOP vote in any state yet? His ceiling is too low for a general. This will be fun.

the establishment candidate was NEVER going to be the nominee this year

the writing was on the wall from 2014 but too many people didnt pay attention

Eric Cantor was the first casualty of the establishment....but he wont be the last

The GOP electorate is tired of the same old bull**** coming out of DC year after year....

Trump is the response....and if they dont hear this time, i expect more casualties next cycle....and bigger names

Politicians are elected and sent to Washington to do the bidding of those that sent them....

Not the lobbyists....not the elite rich assholes who spend all the money....the people that vote

This election cycle is all about that change.....

Waiting to see what happens next.....

No wait needed, the GOP have handed Clinton the keys to the WH

Ceilings can be moved.

lol...he has conservatives against him and the establishment. That's almost 60% of the GOP that does not like Trump. All he has in his corner are the disgruntled. And, believe it or not, there really are not that many people who believe the sky is falling and that Trump can prop it up.

You are dreaming if you think Donald can draw more than 10% of the swing vote. He's the only candidate I can think of who is less likable than Hillary.

Unless she is indicted. We could actually end up with Sanders as president. What a hoot.

centrists like Kasich

progressives like Kasish

conservatives for the most part....dont

he is too moderate on too many issues

he may have been okay on a ticket as a VP with Rubio

but for the general, no way he gets the GOP nomination by himself

ok

if you say so

remember the old saying about counting your chickens

and if you think Trump got down and dirty playing against Cruz and Rubio....watch and wait till you see what he has planned for grandma Clinton

this will go down in history as one of the most entertaining presidential races ever....

Large numbers dislike both, and Trump will drive up hers and down his. I keep hearing what you say, but people never take into consideration that Trump is an excellent closer. That is to say it is not based upon reality.

I just don't see it. He's already peaked in his own party. Hillary is far from the best candidate, but compared to Trump, she's George Freaking Washington.

Nothing new there, Trump has always been a mystery to you, that and the fact that he keeps winning. Now we find you doubting that Trump the New York City big government former Democrat can sell himself to Democrats. Polls are useless at this point, he has not even made his first pitch to D's yet, he has been busy taking over the R party and dispatching the clown car of R POTUS candidate losers.

I doubt the Democrats are going to fall for Trumps pitch...unless he starts saying Black Lives Matter and his daughter comes out as a fluid-sexual.

You will be waiting a long time for that indictment, the GOP's wet dream.

I don't think she will be indicted. I said if, not when.

Because he was always (and still is) obviously running for Vice President. A guy who stood with Democrats on banning guns and Obamacare isn't going to sell well in a GOP primary.
IMO, if Rubio has turned over a new leaf as appeared to be the case in his 'concession speech' after the Florida primary, Rubio could actually be a fantastic VP candidate for the GOP. Does anyone trust he won't still be listening to more high monied influence?

Same thing

Its still the GOP's only shot at the WH if Trump gets the nom, either way the chickens have come home to roost for the Republicans, couldn't have happen to a nicer set of politicians.

No one in their right mind will choose a man as running mate who is hated in his own state.

If a Right Wing prosecutor indicts her, she'll probably pick up votes not lose them. Already people are saying this witch hunt crap has to end, and if the hacks decide to indict her right before the election, it will backfire.

The Obama Justice department are hacks?

Then perhaps we should skip the election and just go with your crystal ball.

There are more than a few Right leaning federal prosecutors. Obama never fired them.

I know the truth sucks in this case, Trump has more negatives than an algebra equation.

No crystal ball needed. the writing is on the wall. Even the GOP establishment know it. Why do you think the GOP is having a **** fit everyday in the press, they know like the rest of us that Trump is not electable in Nov. Look at the polls, most of which have thus far been correct this cycle, it looks dismal for the GOP, they should be more concerned with hanging on to the Senate.
