Romney called into Neil Cavuto's show yesterday requesting all the candidates release their tax returns for the past couple of years so voters can get a better sense of who these candidates are and would help to verify if they have been truthful with the claims they have made to the people. He believes there is a "bombshell" in Trump's tax returns because Trump has been avoiding the requests for over a year every time he is asked about it.

What bothers me if Romney is correct and there is a "bombshell" and Trump takes the nomination surely that "bombshell" will come out in the general election because the Democrats will see that it does.

Here's a recording of Trump on Hugh Hewitt show a year ago doing a pookie dance after Hewitt asked him if he would release his tax returns. Hewitt had to keep steering Trump back to the subject of tax returns until he said he was willing to release his records. That was a year ago and he has not done so.

Last night in a town hall in Houston, Megyn Kelly asked Cruz, Kasich, Rubio and Carson if they would be willing to release their tax information and they all agreed. Cruz has already in part released 5 years. Trump was not at the Town Hall.

Considering the hell that Romney went through about his taxes, I'm kind of surprised he would take this line of attack, for lack of a better term.

I am not surprised. Romney is the quintessential establishment country club Republican and the loss of the party to the tea party/right libertarian wing hurts him deeply. This is merely his way of trying to prevent Trump from taking over what he most likely considers his territory.

The attacks came from Harry Reid/ Democrats and their friends in the MSM. It would be the same if Trump were to get the nomination. I believe it would be in the best interest for all the candidates to release their tax information now so it will not become an issue later.

What the **** does Romney know about Trump's taxes anyway?

Your term is quite correct. It's the Establishment attack on Trump.

Figuring out a way to lose this election.

Perhaps Mittens took a seasonal job at H & R Block after his presidential election loss and Trump walked in with a stack of receipts?

The GOP already has that market cornered.

He knows that he refuses to share the information.
Whether or not Trump's refusal actually eludes to something fishy doesn't really matter since perception is everything.
We should also be careful about muddying the waters of fact with "I don't like this guy so who cares?"

Trump is an arrogant SOB so his refusal could as easily be "I do what I want, go pound sand" as it is anything really wrong with his tax forms.
I doubt with the level of business Trump has achieved that he has left his taxes with any questionable smudges on them.
Still. It would be nice if this hurts him just for the sake of "No. You can't just do whatever the hell you want. Voters want to know."

the republican party establishment is becoming more and more shrill.is this the best that they can do,throwing **** at a wall to see what sticks, come on man.i guess when you spend 30-40 million and get 6% of the vote you scream like a b!+(#

LIKE HIM OR NOT,NOBODY OWNS DONALD TRUMP

I don't think there is much of a chance that Donald will release any of his taxes, now or later. There almost has to be a gold mine of material that could put him on the defensive for the rest of the campaign. Even worse and more troubling to him than losing the primary or election, would be the likely impact of the reputation he has promoted for himself long after the election.

Perhaps Donald and Hillary could do some dancing around together to the Tax & Wall Street Jitterbug.

Why, don't the voters have a right to know about the Democrat running for the GOP Nomination?

Donald Trump does not have a voting record but he does have a business record which could be vetted through his tax records. And I think it is absolutely derelict not to do so. And if there are any discrepancies in his rhetoric on the campaign trail verses what is revealed in his tax records, the people have a right to know. For surely if they exist, the Democrats will be loaded for bear.

Heck his donations to Political Parties would be an eye opener for some, too bad his Fans would refuse to look or listen, it is how they stay right with The Donald.:doh

Sigh, Trump isn't running as a democrat so truth isn't quite what you are trying to imply. Keep at it.

Does not matter what a candidate is running as, Ron Paul ran as a Republican also, even though he was a Libertarian, it was the only way to get elected. Trump just simple picked the bunch he felt he could manipulate more easily and as we see he was correct. Go back and look at what he has supported through the years and his past stand on the issues, maybe that will open your eyes, or not.

The donations to radical Democrats has already been proved without tax records. Tax records would reveal just who Trump is willing to get into bed with for a buck and are these countries, corporations, individuals the same that he claims are shafting the U.S.? Is he the philanthropist he claims to be? Is Trump University a scam? How much in subsidies over the last couple of years has our federal government provided Trump on the backs of taxpayers?
Enquiring minds want to know.

Oh and there is this just out this morning.

Donald Trump to be witness in federal case accusing him of fraud - Feb. 25, 2016

Well said.

I have no idea but why would you think it is a good idea for government to subsidize business? If the government offered subsidies to Trump then he would be a fool to refuse them. The problem is with the government.

Trump has done very little in tradition political campaigning, tactics, and strategy. Why are we taking this one subject and giving is so much weight in comparison to other subjects wher we all agree Trump does whatever the hell he wants?

I am not defending Trump, nor defending his attitudes. Just saying, what the hell would Romney know about this?
