Trump's VP to be political insider?

Donald Trump on VP: We need a political insider - CNNPolitics.com

It seems in choosing a VP Trump wants an experienced politician rather than an outsider like himself. That actually seems rational to me. The question is: who fits that description that would want to be Trump's #2?

There are so many politicians just drooling at the power of the Presidency. Looking at a potential Trump VP as a means to an end- using the Vice Presidency as a platform to run for President in 4-8 years- I think there would be a lot of takers. Even among the current presidential hopefuls. Do you think Rubio would say no? I think not.

Conventional Wisdom: John Kasich, Marco Rubio

Best choice IMO: Susana Martinez.

If Trump beats Kasich in Ohio on the 15th of next month, I'd opine Kasich is out of the VP running!

Like you, I can see Rubio though.

I'm thinking its likely Rubio. He'll want to unite with the establishment candidate to unite the party, helps him a tad with millenial and hispanic vote, helps him a little in Florida. Although he's mentioned Oprah on Howard Stern show in the past so who knows :).

Now leaning trump/kasich. This gives him Ohio and adds strength in states like Pennsyslvania, Michigan. Adds a lot of political experience to the ticket, I think a leavening effect.

Ok, no chance Rubio. My bet Christie or kasich.

I think John Kasich would be the most logical choice but I am not sure he would want to be VP over being a governor.

I heard the name Scott Brown. He actually might be a good safe pick... I don't think it helps/hurts him.

Watched the Kasick interview/town hall today i believe msnbc. He responded when asked about being Trump's vp in a way that seemed to suggest if i interpreted it right that his wife is no fan of Trump and would kill him and that he had the second best job in America as govenor of Ohio. But who knows if offered. I think he likely is high on Trump's list. I agree with you on Scott Brown. It would be a bland pick but likely wouldn't help or hurt him. Im sort of leaning Christie now as i think he'd accept and I think trump respects him. Double down on brash.

the smart pick would be someone from a swing state. it would be funny if he chose Rubio. most of the also rans seem to be ripe for sucking his dick right now, so maybe Rubio will also follow suit and run on his ticket.

Rubio would be a great pick as ambassador to Cuba. I say that in sincerity. I don't know what cabinet position he would have in Trump's administration.

Rubio doesn't believe in normal relations with Cuba--so he couldn't be the ambassador to Cuba.
Rubio is likely to be an ambassador to Wall Street with Eric Cantor .

Another name to watch: Duncan Hunter. He actually be a great vp.

Trump won't be the next president so he won't need a VP.

Wait and see.

How did trump do in Wyoming ?

Not worth a damn. :2razz:

Oh, and I thought of you yesterday. I got an email forwarded to me from Lundgren (our state rep) and he talked to as many delegates in the state as he could find and asked them if they did an informal straw poll for the candidate they would vote for. The vast majority voted for Cruz. Trump isn't real popular here. Thought you might find that interesting.
