This article has a theory that lays out four key points:

This all stems from the mystery surrounding Trump's actual net worth from some guy who actually read all the pages of information Trump released. It seems to be an effort to hide something. Is Trump woth 10 Billion? 4 Billion? 2 Billion? 1 Billion? Couple hundred Million? Why don't we know exactly? 2 Billion is a huge difference from 10 Billion, like the Donald claims. Due to these huge fluctuations, even nothing seems plausible!

1. Real Billionaires do not like and some even hide from publicity. No one will recognize CEOs of major banks or hedge funds on the streets of NYC.
2. Real Billionaires do not purposely go out to brand themselves. They earn that respect and recognition. They do not sponsor fashion shows, they start foundations or charities and work for the common good. Trump is known as one of the least charitable "billionaires" in the world. Ever wonder why?
3. Billionaires usually do not go around and brag about how much money they have or how good their so-called deals are. That's more like the attitude of a 20 something stock broker who just got his first million with an m, dollar bonus check.
4. Billionaires don't start crappy clothing lines, energy drinks, bottled water companies, or universities and have them fail!

Is Donald Trump the most unlucky business man in the world who had to rent out his name just in order to make ends meet? Or is he really just an actor who is playing the part of a Billionaire in his own scripted TV Drama?

Trump is a relatively impoverished billionaire. To be sure he is one but it's not like he has outperformed his inheritance. There are those on or slightly above his level that are celebrities (see the cast of shark tank) but they are all self made and don't rely on their brand to maintain their wealth. With the next recession the trumpeter may well be in the dumpster.

Yeah the guys on shark tank are cool people. Cuban is always seeking attention and he's probably the only Billionaire who is. The others are worth considerably less than Cuban is and Robert Herjavec always looks the least comfortable on TV. Daymond and Barbara follow him I think at the uncomfortable level. One thing is for sure, you can bet Donald Trump will be nothing but a TV pundit when he loses the election.

ego

the guy runs on limelight

maybe in his case, it's a mental disorder but he has always liked the limelight, I tried to find his first interview with Ivana on 60 Minutes to determine the year but can't...point is, he has always put himself out there

After his Celebrity Deathmatch with Megyn Kelly of course.

It is a stupid article that reads like it was written by a mad 17 year old blogger that think he is smarter than the WSJ. No, I am not a Trump fan.

After his Celebrity Deathmatch with Megyn Kelly of course.

I think he will go to CNN. He seems to have the best relationship with them and gave them post-Trump event interview after O'Reilly. Though he does still have a working relationship with NBC I don't think they want anything to do with him publicly anymore. He's burning a lot of media bridges, though they still choose to speak with him on phone interviews live on air for some reason....

He definitely seems to like pundits more than journalists. Still not quite sure what Kelly is, pundit or journalist, but she is more pundit in my mind.

I didn't notice any emotional overtones in the article. Maybe you should take a chill pill.

I am chilled. I am looking forward to the incoming storm. I have a full wood bin, snow plow is installed, have a nice cup of coffee, ate a really good meal last night, going to have ribeyes tonight. Life is good. I meant what I said. Trump knows advertising. That is why he is in top of the polls. He chewed Hillary up with less than a paragraph so bad she or her campaign refuse to mention his name. Really, they don't want him hammering her again. The Koch brothers figured out how this works for Trump and are starting to take the same strategy. They now have a public relations agency working on publicity to increase their exposure intentionally.

Again, for the record, I am not voting for Trump in the primaries. I don't like the guy.

That just proves the theory more. He knows how to advertise his brand but Billionaires don't come from advertising.

Since you are a billionaire tell me how they make all that money. Oh, maybe you aren't a billionaire.

He probably isn't worth as much as he says and he probably is hiding something, but that list is silly. I hope it was tongue in cheek.

NonoBadDog didn't say he comes from advertising, he said he knows advertising. And I agree with him. Trump knows advertising just like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and most other billionaires.

You don't like Trump. I don't like Trump. This article is speculation. If anyone is going after Trump it should be something worth going after. This isn't to sidetrack the thread but here is an example of something I would use to dispute his honesty and his ideas with. He talks out both sides of his mouth.

Real Estate people are often boom and bust. They live in a world of leverage, with large amounts of assets and large amounts of debt. Their net worth is a small percentage of the assets, so when asset values go up and down with real estate prices, net worth goes up and down, on a percentage basis very fast.....

Example: You own a $200,000 home and have $160,000 mortgage... so you have a $40,000 net worth. The price of your home goes up 10% to $220,000 so your net worth goes to $60,000 (a 50% increase)...

now consider the Donald with billions in holdings and billions in debt.... you can see how is net worth can adjust rather radically in a short period of time.
