This is the single most stunning poll number on Donald Trump I have seen

The only polls that really count are the ones that voters will be going to in November,

shrubnose...I am constantly amazed at how much weight people here at this website put on "polls".

How many have been done in the last three (3) months? A quazillion? Each and every one contradicting the other.

Yet on any given day, there is a new thread or five posting yet another poll saying something that the very next day another poll will contradict.

Everyone forgets Rudy Gulliani(sp) led the polls almost all the time, yet did not carry even one state.

No poll has ever changed anyone's mind, yet her they are, day in and day out.

It is getting comical.

That gives me an idea......

I'm not saying that all polls are slanted but some of them are and the intention is to give the impression of support for a candidate that doesn't actually exist.
It's hard to win an election if your name isn't on the ballot.

.

Why are you surprised? We used to have people we trusted to give us the low down, Journalists that spent months out on the trail and reported back to us on what the people where thinking, who they liked and why. But we dont really have that anymore, what we are doing now is what happens when journalism fails. The gatekeepers can not be trusted, so the best next thing is to use our best science we have and go sniff the people directly.

He's good at spreading BS.

Trump supporters aren't uninformed, they're misinformed.

Trump supporters care about different things than they re expected to. And for this they are demeaned. It is not an especially smart move to ignore and mock a gathering rebellion, as it tends to lead to the success of the rebels and increased carnage after according to my history lessons.

In the last American civil war the Rebels lost.

We are not talking about a shooting war. The carnage will be the Democrats NEVER really getting the white house or a majority in either house for a very long time.

They need to come back more to the center and quit IGNORING & DISMISSING the anger of white blue collar voters and gun owners. They are NOT the party of inclusion. They actually HATE white, blue collar, Christian gun owners, and everything they hold dear.

In that same package is also black rural Christian, blue collar gun owners, and Hispanic /Asians of the same make up and demographics.

That fact is indisputable by their own rhetoric.

Even the political cartoons on this site prove this point.

They are going to loose because of it.

You have already lost that cultural war for various reasons but mostly because you are an army of one.

We'll see how accurate your history lessons are in predicting the future after the Democrats win the election in November.

That is what they also said about the TITANIC. Even God could not sink this ship.

I can see you do not have much faith by that statement.

We will get along just fine.

No temporary resident at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue can destroy us.

Many have tried, but we are still here.

No, he couldn't destroy you but there just has to be better choices.

Maybe not at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue...but at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue...there might be a problem.

Come down here to Texas, and I will take you by the hand and show you just how WRONG you really are.

Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and everyone else down here are all pretty much on the same page when it comes to core beliefs

You will have to go all the way west to LA to see any difference, then all the way north to Chicago to see a difference, then all the way East to the Atlantic, then go up I-95 till you hit Baltimore, DC or NYC before you also see a difference.

IGNORING those core values is why liberals are a dying breed and getting worse and more shrill by the day.

You can't spit in the face of everyone's core beliefs each and every day and expect Mom & Pop in Middletown, USA to be silent for long. Liberals are in the minority, and you will be even a smaller minority after 2016.

The glacier is gaining speed.

:doh ...got me there.

I will never make fun of orange skinned NJ people again.

(whispering) Psst...hey, Frank....notice you were the ONLY ONE to catch that?

I think I have enough egg left on my face to make a small omelet.

Even that won't help. All you can do is to judge politicians by what they have done. What they say and what others say about them is pretty meaningless.

Hey...after watching the TV shows Jersey Shore (peopled by folks from Staten Island) & Housewives of New Jersey (peopled by folks who landed in jail) and The Sopranos (peopled by folks I still love)...even I have some questions about our great state.

Fact is, you almost convinced me that I had the wrong address for the White House in MY mind. Had to Google it to be sure. ;)

Have you seen the South Park episode about NJ taking over the country. You would love it. They show all the women as big haired sluts and all the men as bling wearing muscle boys. Of course, they ALL are drawn with orange skin as they take over the country.

No matter what any poll says, Trump (unless he radically changed his stripes) cannot win.

No Republican can win without millions of Democratic voters switching sides.

And there is no way that millions of Democratic voters are going to vote for a xenophobic egomaniac like Trump. The day he said he would ban Muslims from entering America is the day he lost any hope of being POTUS (IMO). That kind of radical nonsense goes over big with many Republicans (especially extremists). But it is a big no no for most Democrats.
And he won't stop. He keeps saying one paranoid, ignorant, xenophobic thing after another.

Rep leaders (behind the scenes) had better prey he does not get the nomination. Not only does he have virtually no chance at the White House, but his nomination could set Republican credibility back for years to come (and it is already pretty low now).

The ironic thing is the Reps now have a window of opportunity they have not had for months and months as Clinton is weakening.
If the Reps could just field a candidate who looks intelligent, reasonable, tough on ISIS but not nearly as obsessed as almost all the Rep candidates are plus appears flexible on things like legalizing pot and SSM and finally preaches at least relative fiscal discipline along with Fed auditing.
Basically a candidate who some Dems could live with. Because NONE of the frontrunners (Trump, Rubio, Cruz) appeal to enough Dems.
The Reps need another option quite frankly because - and I am neither Dem nor Rep - the Rep frontrunners all sound like dinosaurs.
Sometimes Rubio or even Bush make some sense...but then they start foaming at the mouth over ISIS/more military spending or terrorism or some other silliness again and their cred goes out the window.

The democratic party is not 100% liberal, there are plenty of blue collar conservative democrats (usually union) that Trump's message is appealing to. Enough for him to win the general? That's questionable but I have a feeling Trump will be able to garner a surprising percentage of dems in the general, including black voters.

As for his overall popularity, on a local and state level people value substance over style, but on a national level people go for style over substance. Especially considering how most of the US electorate is only passively interested in politics beyond their two-three single issue things like abortions, guns, etc. That's why guys like Bush get elected over Gore, Obama over McCain and Romney, Reagan, etc. Bush had the cowboy thing. Reagan had the actor thing. Clinton came off as cool and has a likeable personality. Trump "says it like it is" and doesn't give too ****s, a redeeming quality for many American's. Hillary Clinton is stale, which is why her support is passive as opposed to the active support Bernie Sanders is getting.

Trump could easily win the general.
