You listen to the progressive Democratic leadership, and they always try to convince us that these terrorists aren't really Islamic, and they CONSTANTLY lecture us on how we need to remember that the majority of Muslims aren't terrorists and don't support terrorism. They've been telling us this, adnauseum, for over 15 years.
The reason they continually remind us that the millions of Muslims in America aren't psycopathic killers, is because they clearly have so little respect for the intelligence of the average American that they think we cannot differentiate a terrorist from a regular Muslim family. They think that we are so stupid and barbaric, that we are going to assemble in large groups and go out beating up or killing innocent Muslims.
Several years ago, for propaganda purposes, they created this myth that Muslims were being targeted and attacked in large numbers. This was disproven by FBI stats for that year, which showed Jews were victims of crime 10x more often than Muslims! As usual, they took 1 incident where some lowlife attacked a Muslim taxi driver and robbed him, and attempted to use that as proof of a huge increase in anti Muslim sentiment, when there wasn't even any real evidence that attack was anything more than a druggie robbing a convenient victim.
The reality is, Americans have handled the murders of thousands of innocent people by radical Islamists very well, all things considered, and we HAVENT become the knuckle dragging angry mob that many/most progressives seem to think of us as. There has been NO significant backlash against Muslims, even as terrorist attacks in America have become numerous.
Lastly, many progressives have used these terrorist attacks as an excuse to illustrate their anti Christian bigotry by making idiotic comments like "radical Christians are the real threat", or referring to Christians as "Jesus Freaks". That's nice, huh?
Anyway, I, for one, am weary of the condescending attitude from those who believe they are smarter than everyone else, and I'm tired of being referred to as a bigot when I have had Muslim friends for as long as I can remember.
Americans aren't the idiots they think we are, and we know the difference between a good Muslim and a terrorist, thank you!
