Not a surprise, but I bet someone from Hillary's camp asked anyway. I would be more interested in who Elizabeth Warren endorses.

Usually standard practice for a POTUS not to endorse a candidate in the primary...

Looks like President Obama is waiting to see who the party chooses as the nominee before making his endorsement. It could also be more telling about his so-so relationship with Clinton. The meeting with Sanders is equally interesting.

And when was the last time a two-term president endorsed anyone at all in the primary? I certainly don't remember any having done so.

If she endorses, from policy perspective I don't see how she can't go with Bernie!

Hell, I'd like to see a Sanders/Warren ticket!

Smart move. Wait until Hillary gets the boot and endorse the survivor (Bernie). It avoids listening to Hillary whine and dealing with Bubba's nonsense.

It's considerate of Obama not to endorse and not be a millstone around the neck of that person's candidacy.

It it looks like Hillary is going to lose the Democratic primary, my money is on Biden getting the nod.

The Democrats won't nominate Sanders.

...probably at the request of the DNC. Seems they're distancing themselves from this complete sham of a president.

Bill Clinton endorsed Gore in December of 1999.

Clinton endorses Gore for president in 2000

Published: Sunday, December 12, 1999

ORLANDO, Fla. {AP} A hoarse President Clinton shushed a crowd of enthusiastic Democrats on Saturday, the better to endorse chosen successor Al Gore "from the heart."

The Florida state Democratic convention was to hear from Gore himself later Saturday. Bill Bradley, Gore's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, is scheduled to speak Sunday.

That's really normal.

I don't think it highlights his relationship with Clinton, but rather his interactions with the DNC and the Democratic Party voter base. As the "leader" of the Party it would be in error to quickly hand over the reigns to someone when the primary is still going on. Further, given that passions run high for the Sanders campaign, it would be heavily advisable to not upset that crowd. You need them, given that the Democrats are running on an exhausted message and ground game across the country. They still have a really good shot at winning the election. You won't have that happen by cutting off a passionate voter base before or during the primary season.

Wait under the dust settles at the convention.

And Bill Bradley was never a serious rival, not much more than Martin O'Malley is today. Gore was a virtual lock from the very beginning.

In other words, Bill Clinton, a two term President, endorsed a primary candidate. I helped you out because you said you couldn't remember any having done so. I showed you a very recent incident of a two term President endorsing someone. You're welcome.

No thanks, I don't need help from someone makes false accusations against me and then refuses to even acknowledge her errors (plural) when I showed them to her (in her own words) in black and white.

False accusation? Your post said you didn't remember a two term President endorsing a candidate in the primary. I showed you where Bill Clinton endorsed Al Gore. No error on either of our parts. You didn't remember, and I did. I just posted it for you. You're welcome.

Irrelevant.

His standing or success has nothing to do with your statement to the effect you could not remember when a sitting president endorsed anyone, seeming to indicate it never happens. Here it is, you are given proof, and in true liberal fashion dismiss it by adding a new rule, the guy didn't have a chance.

I guess you are now saying you can't recall when a sitting president endorsed a candidate who actually had a chance.

I wasn't referring to this thread...and you know it.

Not sure what thread you are in, but this one is about Obama not endorsing anyone. You said you didn't remember a two term President endorsing a candidate in the primary. I showed you where Bill Clinton did. It has to do with this thread and your post.

Well Sanders is the bigger Socialist and far more likely to continue turning the Nation into a Socialist third world country.

It is traditional that the sitting Pres wait until the primaries are finished until endorsing the candidate

The OP should do some research into the subject

That went against the tradition its not the norn

I am sure you found that out in your extensive research on the subject

Hillary is a virtual lock. She's been overwhelming in the endorsements, money, and ground game.
