Why Conservatives Almost Hate Liberals

Of course, i disagree with those people.

But i think we should temper our judgements when there is less malice and/or ill will.

The # who disagreed with gay marriage *and* didn't vote to oppress when given the opportunity was negligible, so i really don't know who you're referring to when you mean the 'harmless ignorant'

It's simply not in the human record for a huge mass of people to hate a particular minority group while agreeing to leave that group alone to live as they please

I'm not saying they're harmless, i'm just saying it's not fair to equivocate them with hateful bigots.

Lacking knowledge about something you've never studied is not a bad thing, it's a normal thing.

There are some people who aren't ignorant in that way, who have other reasons to oppose gay marriage.

However, i think it's a fair argument to suggest that those who are more familiar with homosexuality and homosexuals are more likely to empathize on the issue of gay marriage so as to support it.

I just wanted to point out that there are VERY intelligent people that are on the other side of the debate

not everyone against gay marriage is a uneducated hick....which is what you all like to portray

as per the normal, using absolutes is wrong is all cases

I agree. I am pro SSM because I believe it is a civil right. Nonetheless, I can definitely see why many people are against it. And, their arguments are sound as well.

You seemed to have missed the point of what i was saying.

Ignorance is simply lacking knowledge of some thing- it is NOT an indicator of intelligence.

Re-read what i said if it confuses you.

SOME people are against SSM out of ignorance of HOMOSEXUALITY. These people are NOT necessarily hateful bigots and we should not label them as such.

I ALREADY SAID there are things that i'm ignorant about. You are certainly free to be ignorant about that.

yeah actually it is

all of their excuses can be paraphrased simply: "i'm better than you"

and when they try to limit the rights of others for no reason than their prejudices, wtf is that other than bigotry? This kind of unending forgiveness of those who don't do anything to earn forgiveness is exactly how you lose a civil rights battle

And there isn't a good person in the bunch

Not a valid reason for them to believe what they believe at all

What a perspective on other people you have....
