If The R Party Abandons Trump Like Goldwater What Happens?

How the GOP Insiders Plan to Steal the Nod From Trump

How the GOP Insiders Plan to Steal the Nod From Trump - Breitbart

It is time to start talking about this again, what will the Establishment do? Word is that the last few days they have thrown $10 million into a STOP TRUMP kitty.

Trump will run Independent if they swipe the nomination from him, and all those voters will follow him. The best hope for the Establishment is to find a picture of him having sex with a Muslim...or better yet, a camel.

Trump could just say it's a metaphor for how he's going to **** ISIS and it'll be all good.

Is there any way this could not be considered the establishment wing of the party talking out of both sides of their mouth? They have been saying for years after conservatives lose primaries they should vote for the establishment guy to show party loyalty.

Now that they have lost control at the top of the ticket, they shouldn't do the same? Sorry, those bastards just want to keep power and impose legislation they insulate themselves from. Two faced bastards wonder why they have a problem, what was it Lincoln said about fooling people?

Ya right, "THE RULES ARE THE RULES" to include Gingrich having an official enforcer, till they decide that the rules no longer work for them, then they make it up as they go.

THis is not going to go over well with the little people.

Both parties can do the candidates dirty. Sanders will be done dirty by the Dems and I'd hope Trump gets done dirty too. The GOP cannot afford a Trump nomination. The country cannot afford a Trump prospective presidency.

I think it's hilarious. Repugnantcons eating their own.

Looks like Hillary is winning fair and square.

Trump's voters may be fools' gold. We keep hearing about the huge Republican turnouts thanks to Trump bringing new people into the party. He's not doing that. He's bringing in new voters for Trump. They won't be there in Novrmber if Trump's not there, and if Trump is there lots of ordinary, reliable Republican voters won't be there.

It is pretty entertaining. I love to see establishment politicians in a panic. I think they should all get two terms - one term in office and one term in jail.

If the GOP steels the nod from Trump, he will likely bolt. That will torpedo the Rs.

1912 all over again, except this time, the bolter will be a world-class scumbag.

I find it more likely that Trump would ditch the Reps than vice versa and I find either scenario very likely really.
The Reps may be bitchy but they aren't completely stupid, Trump's been a *good thing for their party and they will want to hold on to that good thing for as long as possible.

*By a good thing, I mean a walking disaster that the people have eaten up in the greatest way since Paris Hilton was a thing.

In the unlikely event that the Reps ditch Trump, I don't think his ego will let him just walk away. I think he will rebel by way of the Independent ticket which would be too bad. I wouldn't want a Republican Reality TV show reject sponsoring the Independents.

"If The R Party Abandons Trump Like Goldwater What Happens?"

They lose the general election. A huge segment of republicans simply won't vote. Seems pretty obvious to everyone other than the republican establishment.

The republican party will do everything they can to avoid pissing Trump off, preferring to let him flame out on his own, which is the most likely thing to happen. If he does not, and gets enough votes clear cut for the nomination, they will pretty much have to grin and bear it. Worst outcome for establishment republicans is a Trump independent bid. Next worse is him getting pissed off and going after them in the media. They will do whatever they can to avoid those outcomes. Most likely they can sit back and his campaign will founder in a 2nd/3rd place finish in Iowa, and lackluster New Hampshire and South Carolina.
His campaign only got stronger.

So we get eight more years of a new Clinton administration. Sounds good to me!

Well it sure does look to me like the plan to to "Goldwater" Trump. It may or may not work.
