What Will Atheist Conservatives Do?

I don't understand atheist conservatives. Atheist libertarians, sure, but not conservatives.

You obviously don't know much about Black Liberation theology. ;)

And no, "many" evangelical pastors aren't bigots. Where did you get that idea?

Black Liberation Theology is still evangelism, still preaches fire and brimstone.

Where did I get that evangelical pastors might be bigots? When was the last time you heard them open their arms to Islam or homosexuals?

It's part of the irony. Two groups, Blacks and Hispanics, that are cornerstones of Democratic support are among the most bigoted Americans. Much more so than white voters ...the majority of which vote Republican.

And Jews. Don't forget the hatred Blacks have of Jews.

A true conservative believes in separation of church and state. Religious conservatives not so much. IMO, the GOP has been hijacked by the latter, which is why I have a hard time voting for them.

Excuse me, but there is no "separation" clause in the USC. Only an Establishment clause.

I don't consider religion when voting.

Obama claims to worship dead-guy-on-stick. As does every candidate. I think most running on both sides are liars and don't believe in anything. They will all make token visits to church while campaigning. Trump, Cruz, Hillary, Rubio etc. are too smart to believe in leprechauns, Jesus or the Easter bunny.

The President doesn't have much influence on religious or moral issues. Clinton was a decent Guy despite his sex with an intern...Carter was a dud despite his religious delusions. Bottom line...I don't care what they believe.

I vote on a package of issues. Religion is way down any priority list.

Sure. It really boils down to the issues. The Right makes it a point to battle sexual liberation and abortion. The Left goes after guns and free speech (hate crimes and PC campus policies). In some ways, the latter is worse because those issues are actually an attack on the constitution. But, for the most part gun bans and speech restrictions won't pass muster with SCOTUS while the closing of abortion clinics and choking off funds to planned parenthood is happening in real time.

Which is a separation of the church from the state. Unless you are cool with Muslim or Satanic prayers in Congress, there is tacit agreement that Christianity is the established religion of the United States.

Properly interpreted it means that the government cannot control the Church.

The makers of these hats are seeking funding on Kickstarter. They have a silver lining to protect from malevolent signals, government control, and the like.

They do beanies too!

First of all, you have no idea how much or how little a politician's religious belief affect their decision making process. You just can't get inside their heads on that. It's a strict relationship between God and the man in question.

JFK had to verbally ensure Americans that he would not rely on his Catholic beliefs to guide his presidency but, I bet you would have voted for him....regardless.

Really? And bull****!

No. It means the government cannot establish a national religion.

Yes, you did say that. But it is obvious your Christian hating, atheistic, leftist ideals, are the main drivers behind you not voting GOP.

Wow just wow as if you love atheist much less people to the left.

And Jews. Don't forget the hatred Blacks have of Jews.

Yes, that is just as irrational as the evangelicals who are bigoted against homosexuals and Muslims.

Hatred is borne of ignorance, but unfortunately, we have a lot of ignorance floating around.

I couldn't care less what someone's religious beliefs are, or if he/she has any at all. Last I checked, people were still free to hold religious beliefs. I'm completely non-religious, but don't support or discount candidates based on their religion.

I'm voting for Rubio.

Loving and respecting the individual, not the political leaning, religion, ethnicity or skin color is a great concept. Christians are being taught to love all. We all fall short now and then. That makes us human just like the next guy.
Nevertheless, we all should love more and judge less. It's a noble concept.

I'm fine with religious people, but I worry about those who bring it up in their campaign or make odd statements about evolution or spreading Christianity to promote world peace.

Plenty of Christians hate Jews too. Ann Coulter's comment from 2007 sums up their thoughts best.

The American Jewish Committee issued a statement declaring that it is "outraged" by Coulter's assertion on Donny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea" that Jews require "perfecting" by becoming Christians.

Why? She's pro-abortion, pro-immigration, supports amnesty and will not attempt to reverse the anchor baby amendment. That she may declare a war on guns is troubling, but less of an evil than either Sanders or Trump.

LOL

I guess " I am very much pro-business, small government, low taxes, and an aggressive military. I am law and order and not at all PC" meant nothing when you wrote it.

Sorry Calamity, but I call BS on your OP.

One problem with the GOP is their lack of inclusion. You're either hard right or a RINO. Well, I may just pay you all back by voting a straight D ticket. Me and millions of others, perhaps.

yeah

big surprise
