The following GOP primaries are open in that any voter can vote. This of course opens the door to people who are not normally Republicans to want to mess with the party, perhaps putting forth their most extremist candidate who is most likely to lose in November.

2/20 South Carolina
2/23 Alabama
2/23 Arkansas
2/23 Minnesotta
3/1 Texas
3/1 Tennessee
3/1 Vermont
3/1 Virginia
3/8 Mississippi
3/15 Illinois
4/5 Wisconsin
5/3 Indiana

And that does not include primaries where people could switch party affiliation or register making themselves eligible depending on those different state laws and their respective timelines.

It is my opinion that if Trump were the GOP nominee, he would make the 1964 Goldwater debacle look like the perfect Miami Dolphin 17 - 0 season in comparison. It would be disaster of epic proportions that would probably be felt from coast to coast and with down ticket losses in the wake of the Trump disaster.

So do you think Dems will jump in on this like I have done in past Michigan primaries when they were open?

I suspect there is one big difference: The Dem race is all but over while the GOP race is red hot. People want to be where the action is and I think that will prevent too many Republicans from doing the jump while allowing Dems to do just that.

If Sanders were nominated - I think he would have a chance to beat Trump or Cruz or Paul in a razor close race. He would lose to Rubio or Kasich or Bush without a doubt as the center would collapse against him - just as it would against a GOP wing candidate like Trump.

Sanders will probably be out of the race officials by the end of March.

these are just the OPEN primaries

doesnt include the open caucuses, the semi open primaries, or other states that could also be problematic

if you think Hillary is a done deal.....okay

i would suggest not counting your proverbial chickens just quite yet.....

Sanders will be out of the race by that time...... either officially or simply de facto.

Anything can happen............ but I highly doubt that will.

Yes. Anything can happen. If the FBI refers charges to the Justice Department, an indictment won't be necessary to politically cook Hillary. Go Bernie.

And a huge meteor could hit the earth before next summer and make the political conventions unnecessary. I would not bet on either scenario.

I'm not concerned with your bets or implausible scenarios. She's under investigation by the FBI, and it's already clear she's broken some serious laws. That's reality. Whether it comes to pass that she's indicted is unlikely, but the charges are already pretty clear. We'll see if the FBI has any balls or not soon enough.

I get it - you are only interested in your own implausible scenarios because of your hatred of Clinton. Believe me, you come across loud and clear.

Of course they will, they're scumbags...

And I get it too. You're interested in undermining the election because you're preferred candidate is under investigation by the FBI. That's not my hatred. It's just a fact.

It is hard to believe a Democrat voting for Trump.........but in a primary you can expect a landslide number of Democrats voting for the Donald....Go Donald Go

Clinton is NOT my preferred candidate. So you fail with your false premise.

Well, excuse me, but you're the one who announced Hillary's coronation - not me. Either way, the candidate you announced as heir to the throne is under FBI investigation. She will be pounded for that by the opposition, and rightfully so. Let her speak about national security - the same person who as SoS couldn't be bothered to maintain national secrets. And no, I don't mind at all that your preferred candidate will be a loser if your own words are to be believed.

I simply observed that its all but over for the nomination. Let the opposition do their worst. Unless the nominee is Rubio it will not matter as none of the right wing GOP contenders can win in November.

BTW

HC is not being investigated by the FBI...........You need to get your news from reliable sources and/or improve your reading for understanding skills............

And please do not tell me I am wrong and expect a reply..............because you have no idea of what you speak and I am sure will not check what the facts are

The lengthy Benghazi probe may be behind her, but Hillary Clinton is still facing months of investigation into her emails.

The Democratic presidential front-runner testified for 11 hours last month before the House Select Committee on the deadly attacks in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012 - the same panel that discovered her use of the secret email server earlier this year.

Clinton has faced questions about whether the emails sent through a private server at her New York home was sufficient to ensure the security of sensitive information while she was secretary of state.

The FBI is investigating the security of Clinton's private email setup after classified data was found to have been transmitted over her server.

Now, the bureau’s Counterintelligence Division is facing pressure to complete its review as soon as possible as Clinton is in the middle of her campaign to win the Democratic presidential nomination, McClatchy reported.

The State Department reports more than 600 emails sent or received through the server contained classified material, including some sent or received by Clinton’s aides.

The FBI will have to analyse whether she or her aides failed to properly safeguard sensitive data.

But sources say that it is unlikely she will face charges because of her profile and due to the difficulty of proving that she knew that the emails contained classified information.
Former federal prosecutor Peter Zeidenberg told McClatchy: ‘If the emails were not marked, it would not be possible – at least not in my view – to establish that Ms Clinton knowingly mishandled classified information.’
