I have a theory on Donald Trump

For people who insist that Obama has a "lack of leadership," I have to wonder what exactly they think "leadership" looks like.

He gives a speech about what we should do....that's not leadership.

He tries to get congress to pass the kind of laws he promised to pass, and for the most part, they block the laws in order to frustrate him. That's been their plan the entire time: stop everything he said he wanted while campaigning.

Then he says something about maybe using an executive order. Oh, that's unconstitutional and dictator-like.

He takes a risk like sending S6 into Pakistan for Obama, and within minutes of the headline breaking: oh, he only did that for political purposes.

So ... what is "leadership" here? Is it nothing more than agreeing with the general conservative position on an issue?

At this point, I really don't like a lot of what the guy has done but....come on. He doesn't "lead"?

Not long ago, Donald Trump attended Chelsea Clinton's birthday party. Not long ago, Donald Trump was accepting contributions from Democrats. A while back, Donald Trump identified as a Democrat.

Now he is running as a Republican, and saying things so outrageous that almost all the other Republicans are calling him to the carpet over those statements. Yet Donald Trump still has a huge lead, and it doesn't look like that lead will be evaporating any time soon. Also, Donald Trump has taken his promise of not running as an independent off the table. He says that is because other Republicans have unfairly attacked him, thus violating the agreement he made with them.

Add it all up, and it comes to this. Donald Trump is a Democratic plant, whose mission is to destroy the Republican party as it now exists. I think he is doing a pretty good job of it too.

What say you?

Crazy enough that it might be for real. Wouldn't shock me.

The guy is the President of the United States and can speak directly to the people any time he wants to and for whatever reason he wants to. His lack of leadership has nothing to do with obstructionism or gerrymandering. He just can't seem to figure out that there is a difference between playing the role of President and actually governing.

He hasn't stopped campaigning since 2008.

Agree.

I still have no idea what is plan for Syria/ Iraq/ ISIS is other than fluffy statements.

Clearly your shi---t is better than my shi------t.

Pass it over.

Yes, I totally see the democrats doing this crap.

See here's the thing....

Even if Trump was a "Democratic plant," you still couldn't blame any damage to the GOP on him. You could only blame the GOP base, which is rallying around Trump in ever-increasing numbers. The Democrats can't force the GOP base to say they support Trump when polled, nor can they force the GOP base to vote for him in the primary.

That's exclusively on the GOP base, which is increasingly revealing itself to be xenophobic and overtly racist.
But anyway, I doubt the Democrats are capable of pulling something like that off.

(Yes. I know. Islam is a religion, not a race.)

...Never mind.
