Liberals: Do you feel betrayed when a minority runs as a Republican?

When discussing social dynamics, the concern is not merely numbers but power. One would learn that in highschool or Soc101. That's why women are minorities.
I am well aware of that.

BTW

This is a silly question to ask............for one reason.......it assumes/suggests an answer in the question.........and is a trap for those answer no..............with no ability to defend or prove a NO proposition............

This something one expects to hear on The Five on Faux.........

It seems to me that republicans openly profess more hate for hispanics and gays than blacks these days, although their attacks on obama from the start indicates at least a recognition that many of their voters are racist. If carson or another black candidate won the nomination, though, that would do much to remove the suspicion that the republican party is inherently racist

I understand that many black voters see a black republican as a traitor to his race, given the undeniable decades-long oppression that the party is responsible for. But i think it might just be mostly in the past, whereas as i said a hispanic or gay republican i would have nothing but disdain for, and likely have 0 chance of election anyway

One of the most hilarious things I have ever witnessed in politics is when the libs say that Republican women are fighting a war against, drumroll please, women!

IMO, it is most of the left that betrays liberalism these days as the game of identity politics has trumped liberal principles.

The entire notion that a black man MUST be a leftist is the actual betrayal here, since the act of putting people into little boxes like that goes completely against the liberal notion of respecting individuality and allowing the individual develop in their own ways despite their race or ethnicity.

Straaaaawman.

Who said that a black man "MUST be a leftist"?

What's funny is the Dems running are literally all old white people (what they say comprises the GOP). With the GOP you have white guys and a white woman, but you also have an African American and 2 Hispanic candidates.

Currently now Rubio and Cruz (Hispanics) have 21.8% of the popular support
Carson (African American) has 24.5%
Trump (White) has 25.3%
The rest are whites, but currently almost 50% of Republicans support a minority individual. So much for rampant racism. Really trump is the only white person with any kind of major support.

There isn't a single major minority Democratic candidate and there hasn't been.

There hasn't been a single minority Republican nominee EVER either. Get back to me when that changes.

Other than Obama there has never been a minority Democratic nominee. So, you're ahead of the Republicans 1 - 0. In the current field of candidates Republican minorities far outnumber the lone Democratic one.

Herman Cain was in the race in 2012 (ultimately dropped out), many had hoped Jindal would consider running too.

There are so many threads about Ben Carson, which I find a little odd because he's not the most enthusiastic guy in the world...actually a little boring as far as I'm concerned. But the negative attention given to him by the left seems to be the most I've seen since Sarah Palin, both minorities. Do you, deep down, have a greater disdain if the person running as a Republican is a minority?

Women are minorities?

Like I said what good are candidates if you will never nominate them. It is all a sham.

Yeah man, it is a vast right wing conspiracy....
