Wow, this rightwing writer (Jim Geraghty) really has it in for Gentle Ben. Calls his explanation of his relationship with Mannetech Inc, a nutritional supplement maker, "bold-faced lies." Pretty strong language for the newest darling of the extreme right. Will be interested in following. Meanwhile, the news for Rubio is that he's found a big pocket "angel" in the form of Paul Singer, a NY investment banker, who's going to give and raise a bunch of pelf for Marco. When it's all settled, it'll be the money that settles it.

Not really a surprise, they are upset he is high in the polls, but he can't possibly win. They should blame Fox for him being there in the first place. Many clowns become candidates because of Fox. News.

It appears that the biggest takeaway from the GOP primary is:

the bigger and bolder your lie is, the better you will perform in the polls!

this is really harrowing and sad for the US!

That would explain Hillary's numbers.

Well compared to the likes of Trump or Carson, Hilary is definitely a small-timer!

A paid "snake oil" salesman. Very nice. $40,000 a speech. God bless capitalism.

I was going to make a thread on this because I absolutely hate these types of people. I want to do more research into Carson's past. Because he seems to be trolling everybody. Did he fake all his medical accomplishments? That remains to be seen, but I think the evidence is very, very thin. No doctor in their right mind would peddle this crap and I don't think a real doctor can be as evangelical as he is. He could be worse than Doctor Oz, if this sticks to him. Though the evangelicals absolutely LOVE him.

Unfortunately as far as his curriculum is concerned, Carson is the real deal: as a pediatric neuro-surgeon it seems that he established his authority, performed some authoritative publications in well-known journals!

This makes it all the more disheartening when you hear the kind of rubbish he spouts on a daily basis!

But I have a theory, and it relates to a chief feature of the GOP that you can date back to the populist Georges Wallace, i.e the constant use of dog-whistling to assemble the conservative masses: the idea is that these folks within the GOP establishment are not automatically racists but they understood that implicit debasing of nonwhite communities wins votes, and that's a fact. And I believe that's the strategy carson is following with his own humble and reassuring style: he makes the subjects that are most likely to strike a chord among the conservative base his own but without believing a word of what he is saying! It's blanket opportunism!
Otherwise his act is completely incomprehensible! You can't embrace such nonsense and at the same time be trusted with the brain of children! It's just beyond me!

Ben Carson is one of the most unqualified men to every run for President, and given the crop of candidates we've had the past few cycles that's saying something. His solitary appeal is to low information voters who like his 'general vibe' and believe in a delusional 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington' narrative.

He's going to have to work harder to match Hillary's standard $200,000 per speech.

Hillary Clinton's Speaking Circuit Payday: $5 Million (and Counting) | Mother Jones

George dumb azz was getting similar fees. Neither as far as I know was hawking a fraudulent product and then claiming they had no relationship with the company that produces it. I'm sure the fact he is a conservative republican makes his business dealings beyond reproach because we all know they have such high moral and ethical values.

I could not agree more, and it exemplifies an appaling feature concerning the expected skills of the GOP contenders:

The drift between the skills promoted to win the GOP primaries and the skills required to become a good president is running so wide that at some point they will be completely conflicting with one another

Not as sad as the fact that turbans are destroying this country and that if we don't ban turbans, Islam will take over.

I'm running for Pres on the 2016 GOP ticket. Vote 4 me. THX

Nobody's business deals should be above reproach, but Carson's speeches, which promoted a "type" of supplement, not a "brand" are a drop in the bucket when compared with Hitlery's past business dealings. Remember Hillary's famous Whitewater dealings? LOL

I can't speak to Carson's moral and ethical values, since he's pro-life and I'm pro-choice, but I can easily say that I admire his work with inner city children to help them turn from drugs and gangs to being productive members of society. That's a bit more "moral" in my book than Hillary's bratty daughter who refused to invite the Obamas to her wedding, even though she invited nearly every other political entity in her mother's circle.

Bottom line, perhaps Carson lacks a bit in the ethical department - but he'll never reach the level of ethical failure that Hillary's on.

Did you know that among all the refugiees that are seeking their fate in Europe, an increasing number of them are choosing to ditch Islam to become christians?
In truth, there is absolutely no scenario in which Islam will take over the US! As a matter of fact if you fear religious extremism, you should better look inside the GOP party, because in the name of God, these clowns are ready to spout every nonsense there is, like legislating on woman biology for example!
The conservative ideology might have had its appeal back in the days, but i believe that it is completely insane to advocate for the modern day conservatism, whose is built on strategically lying and outlying to the voters in order to win votes! This is sickening and it hurts America!

I see. So the ethical line to be drawn for Carson and I guess the repuke field is your perception of Hillary. Got it, thanks.

Nope. You didn't "get" that one. It appears to have gone right over your head. But, thanks for playing.

One accomplishment he did not fake is the separation of the Siamese twins. But,being a surgeon does not automatically make you an expert at lall medicine and all subjects.

This isn't the biggest issue people should be focusing on, but it does tell me one of two things:

a) Ben Carson will bald faced lie about a minor error in judgement rather than simply own up to the mistake, which could be a character flaw that would disqualify him from serious consideration for the Presidency, or

b) Ben Carson isn't smart enough to understand that his promotional interview for the product in question was indeed a full throated endorsement which would disqualify him from serious consideration for the Presidency.

Watching him explain himself in the face of contradictory evidence was truly painful. As the old saying goes, in politics, the cover up is almost always more damaging than the crime.

I don't see what the problem is. Carson should have just said "yeah I did it, so what? He's lying though. That will play with many Republicans but would hurt him if he ever makes it to the general.
