they tend to vote against intrusive regulations. that allows businesses to operate without unneeded barriers to their operations
they express opposition to expanding the national debt, which, in turn, assures a strong national currency held in high esteem by all the world. protecting the strong dollar is essential; each printing of a $100 bill generates that much wealth less the cost of the printing of the bill

What have they done about jobs.

they oppose welfare benefits that would disincentivize prospective workers from sitting on their asses drawing said benefits instead of seeking employment to remain self sufficient

first thought was the interstate highway system, advanced by Ike. recognize that was sold as a system essential to transport our military rapidly when needed. commercial and personal use were considered a positive byproduct. as a contingent which always advocates the construction of infrastructure beneficial to military activities, the cons make sure our ports are deep enough, our airways accessible enough, such that those and similar military based infrastructure needs also benefit commercial and personal activities
in a similar vein, cons tend to support military R&D, which developments often lead to commercial application beneficial to much of our public. a single example is the communications satellites that facilitate excellent tv transmissions capabilities

Those Companies can now expand because they pay less taxes and don't have to deal with ridiculous and destructive regulations.

They imported wealth.
They created businesses.
They elected a "keeper of highways" and a "fence viewer."

Of course, in the context of their times, these "conservatives" were actually quite liberal.

First you should ask what Obama and the democrats have done about these things. In truth, they've done nothing positive, yet they had control of the government for all but the past two years. Growth is anemic. Jobs are non-existent for many. And if the infrastructure is crumbling, I'd say there's plenty of blame to go around on both sides of the political aisle. What have liberals done about it, since it seems to nag you?

Yes, we conservatives have participated in and contributed to such things as thriving churches, private charities, and traditional marriage as the best situation to raise children and that in turn has created safer, more stable, more prosperous neighborhoods. . .that's one. . . .

And we have been the backbone of retaining positive practices and values such as appreciating and promoting the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem, respect for the flag, appreciation for the military who keeps us safe from outside oppression, and basic common sense without which this country would have gone to hell in a hand basket even more quickly than is happening anyway due to the 'new morality' and 'new idealism' of the liberalism that promotes, overtly or inadvertently, destructive concepts and habits. . .that's two. . .

And we are the last stronghold of concepts of personal responsibility, individual initiative, and belief that a government that gets out of the way and allows and encourages people to pursue their greatest potential and as a result we have created real jobs and offered real opportunity that contributes to the economy instead of draining it. Without us we would be a hopeless socialist mess totally dependent on government for all we have. . . .that's three. . .

I pay lots in taxes, including property, state and federal. some 45% after all is said and done,

I pay tolls, etc, yet roads are ****. bridges are crumbling.

Fought the liberals every inch of the way while liberals were fight for personal rights and freedoms.
Declared themselves to be for small government while advocating for more laws and more bureaucracy.
Claimed to be aligned with the founders of the country, the first effective liberals, while pushing for bible-based laws and legislated morality.
 


You should rephrase your question. There arent a ton of 'conservatives' in congress.

1. Conservatives BUILT AMERICA. They were the Founding Fathers who risked everything to create a Representative Republic

2. Conservatives ENDED SLAVERY and gave women the right to vote.

3. Conservatives in the 80s created the greatest economy in history.


I could ask what liberals have done for humanity in general, but that one is easy. Just look at marvelous examples of liberalism in history: Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, North Korea, Cuba, Iran.

Depends on if they are scumbags looking for handouts or if they are productive citizens wanting jobs. If they just want handouts, then yeah...they will be just like every other rat and go blue. Amirite?

About a year ago I asked a very similar question. Got either crickets or the misguided response of "we freed the slaves."

This thread is about what conservatives have done for the average citizens. That has nothing to do with liberals, the rich or the poor.
