Trump Appears to Have Won Every Online Poll

Ask the internet who won the debate and you'd think it was Donald Trump. Also if that were the case, then Ron Paul would be President. So what is happening?

I see an interesting trend here. The disenfranchised who live on the internet are flocking in droves to Trump. All over Social Media whenever there is an article or bad press about Trump, there are guaranteed to be Trump supporters spouting off in the comments.

There has been major internet polling going on ever since the Republican Debate. NBC and Drudge Report equally have Trump winning the night. But more people seem to believe that he had the worse performance. So why are these outlets saying quite dishonestly I might add, that he won?

Does the media love-to-hate Trump this much???

It does now and pretty much has from the start been a case of Trump against a whole bunch of otherwise similar folks. He's the only one that stands out and the others and sharing the lion's share. As soon as the field begins to diminish the one or two left over of the same cloth will begin to accumulate those "votes" and 24% won't seem like much anymore.

I would like some clarification of the bolded text:

Are you stating, "disenfranchised individuals are drawn to the internet"?

Or, "those on the internet are disenfranchised"?

Because if the latter, I'll disagree by saying the internet is a dominate medium for the younger generations & strong in the older, whereas print is dying across all generations, and broadcast is receding as well.

It was noted by most of the early commentators however that the Trump supporters in the polls are NOT voters.

So the polling is deceptive.

No need - I watched both and he pretty much said at least 80% of the same thing on both shows. Watch one and save 15 minutes to do something else. He was on the phone in the opening 15 minutes of both programs.

I was being Politically Correct. What I stated originally still does not change. There is a large chunk of the disenfranchised movement that lives and thrives off internet chatrooms and plugging whoever they want to win the Presidency, even if there is a small or no chance! These people are generally called trolls...

The poll I saw today had Fiorina winning at 22% followed by Trump, Carson then Rubio I believe.

Trump might have been the best, I certainly didn't see it, but he squandered that with the Megan Kelly incident.

Fair enough.

Those with more extreme views likely have fewer mainstream venues, so yeah you're likely right in that.

Though I would differ with the term 'troll'.

Having an unpopular or minority view does not necessarily make one a troll - though a subset, as a subset of any other group, may be trolls.

Upon review of Meet The Press and of Face The Nation --

The clear winners of the debate were Carly and Rubio.

And the clear loser was Trump.

Next question -- with Carly and Rubio on the ticket, who should be Pres and who should be VP?

And the third question -- can Rubio and Carly together bet Hillary?

You guys and gals should start some new polls.

I need to head to our local bar and grille now to watch the NFL Hall Of Fame Game.

If you actually think that the GOP are otherwise similar to each other... including Trump... that's a sad state of affairs.

Trump is an overbearing jackass that should never be allowed close to the White House, much less allowed to live there as the President. As for the rest of the GOP candidates, they are as diverse as the membership of this forum (well, almost). Cruz and Rubio are so far apart that I don't think they even talk to each other. Paul and Graham are so diametrically opposed to each other's ideology that I'm just waiting for one to knock the snot out of the other one.

They are vastly different. Trump is an aberration that threatens the stability of the party's ability to conduct a reasonable primary race. HE is not what the GOP stands for (well, neither is Cruz or a bunch of the others), but we have a few that are - like John Kasich, Carly Fiorina and few others.

Just don't make the mistake of underestimating some of them, or for that matter, underestimating the GOP voter to do the correct thing before it's all over.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, all except Trump (well any in the spotlight at all) are all of the same cloth, not the same cloth as Trump but the same cloth as each other.

They are all pretty much within arm's reach of each other, yeah, for the issues people actually care about. They are part of the currently not working system of Republican Congresscritters and Senators. The only potential stand outs are the governors, and they're being mostly ignored.

They weren't in the debate nor in the Republican party. Since polling after the Republican debate is the discussion, I don't think those that you've mentioned are relevant. That said, both Hillary and Bernie beat Trump, so no problems there, regardless of their differences.

I'm not at all put out. I have taken great offense to Trump's "whatever" remark and am flabbergasted that some women are not.

Trolls love Trump. Supporting him is an unadulterated act of lunacy to be reveled in. It's always been this way. If I get bored, I might throw a few pro-Trump posts out there.
